Bible School Visits Adelaide Millard Twenty-ftve pupils of the Methodist Bible School of Mentone, Ind.. ;ind their reven teachers and drivers, spent a couple of hours Wednesday afternoon, June 15, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Millan! and Adelaide Millaid. Adelaide read to them from the Braille Bible and wrete and told them of the work being done for and by the blind both in Indiana and the United States. They listened to "The Talking Book", examined magazines and were very attentive and interested group of youngsters. They sang several Bible School songs and were ve-y much interested in the things. Miss Ruth Millard told them of knowing Dale Evans and her family and Roy Rogers. The Rogers family attended the same Methodist Church at Chatsuvoi th California where Miss Millard had formerly gone. One of the • teachers accompanying them was Mrs. Rhea Ward, who formerly lived in Walkerton. NOTICE Ice Cream Social Saturday. New Demonstration Club Open To New Members The newly organized Home Demonstration Club met last Monday night in the Walkerton T. iwn Club. The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Harry Malstaff, temporary chairman. It was agreed that the club would be a working service club, taking advantage of the educational program offered by the Home Economics Extension Sen - ice and by helping and shading with one another and the community in better home living. The group enjoyed a lesson demonstrating "Rlbbcn Sandwich Cake'’ prepared by Mrs. Al Drews and given by Mrs. Malstaff. The cake wa s later served with coffee and enjoyed by all. Mrs. Singer, County Homo Demonstration Agent, will give <i lesson and demonstration at the next meeting on "Hawaiian Foods”. The charter will be open to new members until and including the next meeting, July 11. Election of officers and installation will be held at the next meeting, July 11. Election dP officers and installation will be held at that time. A name for the club will also be decided next month when the roll call will be answered by a name suggestion. If further information is desired, contact Mrs. Malstaff or Mrs. H. Clingenpeel. Hold Party At Beatty Memorial Friday night, June 24, the American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a party for W u 9of the Maximum Security Division. The first party was held in February and wa-s very well attended. These partie's mean so much to these boys. If you would like an evening's entertainment, along with a feeling of doing good for others, be at the Legicn Hall Friday night, June 24, a| 6:00 p.m. Again Dick Verkier will drive his school bus and we would like to have every seat filled. Two Boys Attend Science Institute Two Walkerton High School senior boys, Michael Heimer, son of Mrs. Olive Buckmaster, and Warren Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bush Wood, are attending a National Science Institute at Indiana University. The Institute is set up for the express purpose of acquainting outstanding high school seniors with current problems and research in Chemistry’. Physics, Biclogy and Mathematics. Mike Heimer was chosen as a participant in April, while Warren Wood was named as an alternate at that time. Monday morning Warren was notified tj. I U that he was to attend the Institute. Vo-Ag and chemistry teacher Bill Blaisdell flew’ Warren to I U in his private plane in time for the Monday afternoon session.
