with the permission of the Walkerton Police, when the mishap occurred. He was treated by a local doctor and is doing well at present. He was carrying a 22 cal. rifle that discharged by accident Clyde Chapman, manager of the Walkerton dumber Co., was summoned by the police on the night of Junt 9th. as the burglar alarm wa s set off at the Lumber Co Investigation showed that someone had climbed the fence, gaining admittance to the yard, but set off the burglar alarm as they tried to move around inside the building. Nothing was reported missing as the break-in was thwarted vfith the sounding of the alarm. The polcie discovered that th'lock on the back door of Dad and Lad’s had been tinkwed with on the night of June 12th. However, admittance* was not made as the lock had not been opened. It was damage! so that repairs weie necessary. The B&O Railroad reported to
the Walkerton Police that a signal had been broken before June 13. Closer investigation discovered that five migrant workers' children, from the ages of 7 thru 12. had done this damage with rocks from the railroad bed. They were turned over to their parents who are responsible for their action and probably the damages. Mrs. Gary Hosteller, rente 1, North Liberty, reported that their white German Shepherd dog was lost south of Walkerton on Thursday of last week.
