Lincolnettes 4-H A gay time was had when 100 Junior Lincolnettp 4-Hers and the Linrolnito.s 4-H boys and their friends gathered for a wiener roast and hayride at the Orville Schmeltz farm last Saturday evening. Kay Powell was in ch i.jge of the evening. After e.itmg t.he groups played games. In spite of the ram the group went cn the planned hayride. Orville Schmeltz and Phil Kollar drove the wagons Mrs. Barnard Williams, Mrs. Robert Awald, Mrs. Orville Schmeltz and Miss Deanne Mechling rod e on the wagons. Bill Blaisdell followed in his car. After the hayride the group enjoyed ice cream before going home. A Junior lancolnettes meeting will be held Thursday, June 16 at the W. H. S. A surprise ia in store sc he sure to attend. Girls, now i s the time for you to start working on your demonstrations. On Monday. June 27, there will be held a dessert party at 7:00 in the W. H. S. gym. Motherg are welcome to come. Johnson Twp. 4-H Th e first meeting of the Johnson Township Tractor Maintenance Club was held at the Farm Bureau Co-op in Hamlet. Seven rut < the nine members weie present. Club leaders Emit Glorp and Claude Kissinger passed ant the project books to the members. Election of officers was held with Don Thomas as president, David Knowlton, vice president; John Stahly. secretary. The next meeting willj be held June 15. PICNIC DINNER The annual picnic dinner of the Presbyterian Dorcas Circle was held in the home of Mrs. W. P. Cowan on Thursday. June 9, at 12:30 o’clock. After a most delicious dinner, the meeting was opened with the singing of an old hymn, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Mrs. Charles Hinz had the devotions, the subject being, “Facing the problems of evil.” The 37th and 73rd Psalms were studied together. Roll call was answered with a scripture verse containing the word, “Affection.” Mrs. Claude Watkins gave an article on what our summer medical offering is used for. She also passed out envelopes to receive the offering. W had a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to honor Mrs.. R. N. LaFeber . The meeting was closed with the usual benediction.
