Mi. and Mrs. Russell Hartsough and Mr. and Mrs. John Powell attended the ball game between the Pittsburg Pirates and the Cubs in Chicago Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitmer of North Liberty attended the graduation Sunday at Purdue University. Their son. Henry, received his Master's degree in Education and their son-in-law, Carl E. Garwood, received his B S. degree in Horticulture. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. J. Sohuitejann, of South Bend, will soon be moving into the Leßoy residence on Illinois Street. He is associated with the Metropolitan Insurance Company, South Bend office. He will continue to work in the South Bend ofJice basically, but will have an office in his home in Walkerton. A^uffet supper at the home or Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hartsough was served Monday evening in honor of Smokey Burgess and Vernon Law. They are membeis of the Pittsburg Pirates Ball cl b. The boys had thrilled the hearts of our local Littl e Leaguers and many others during the afterm - n at the ball park. Twenty other guests from Walkerton were invited to share th e evening and ail voted the honored guests “Real Guys.” Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Fitzgerald. Tucson, Ariz., are spending their vacation in Walkerton, visiting their family and friends. They are staying with Mr. and Mis. Bruce Fitzgerald. Dalias has just completed his college work at the University of Arizona and has received a BS. degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. He has accepted a position with the Arizona Public Service Co. in Phoenix, Ariz., as a special Revenue Accountant.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnsen and sons, John and Wally, attended commencement exercist s at Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind. on Monday, June 6, at whi< h time their daughter and sister, Miss Barbara Anne Johnson, was graduated with an A.B. degree in English. Miss Johnson has accepted a position at Hobart, Indiana, teaching English in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rhodebeck attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Donna Maric Cranford, at the Sacred Heart Church in LaPorte Saturday morning. Mrs. Gall Sherland spent Sunday with her father, Claude Poole, who is confined in St. Joseph hospital, Mishawaka. Mr. and Mrs. James Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Alwine spent several 'days last week in Atlanta. Georgia, on business. Sharon Kay Bunton, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Cowan, graduated from Green Castle High School May 25. An-, other granddaughter B- cky Sae Grimes, will graduate from George Washington High School, Indianapolis. June 14 Mr. anti Mrs. Geocge Ferverda attended the funeral of William O. Fervida in Nappanee Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Ferverda, Sheryle and Ronnie, accompanied them home lor supper. Mrs. Bertha Urbin spent the week end in Wakarusa, caring for the children of Dr. and Mrs. John Guttman while they attended commencement at DePauw University. James Guttman was a graduate of this class. Mr and Mrs. Clarence Rhodebeck attended the graduation of their granddaughter, Sue Shock Shunk, at Indiana University Monday. Mrs. James Martin also attended.
