Top Seniors Os 1960 For Tyner Named Ruth Roose awl Sandra Kam have been, named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the senior class in the Tyner High School, according to the announcement by Claude V. York, prinicpa! of the school. Cummencement will be held May 16 Ruth is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Chai les W. Roose of Walkerton. She has been a member of the Sunshine Society tm four years, holding the oifi o of president this year. She ha., be. i. a member of the chorus and band for four vo os ^£W' MISS RUTH ROOSE Miss Roose was the recipient of the Homemaker of Tomorrow award for Tyner High School. She was also named County I) A R. Good Citizen. She was one of the three Merit Scholarship Senufinalists from Marshall county. Sandra is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Karn of Tynei She is well known tor her outstanding baton twirling, has twirled with the Tyner High School band for 12 years and has been drum major for four years. She also plays the flute and piccolo in the band. She has been accompanist for the high school chorus for four years and of the octet for two years. Sandra received many superior ratings on solos and ensembles at the district and state music contests of piano, flute and baton twirling An active participant in vegetable and entomology' judging. Miss Kam was a member of the Tyner High ^School Vegetable Judging team that won first place in the state in 1957 anil IPSR. Her team won the ational Championship in Bi’oxbMi.ss. in December, 195 K. Sandy was state secretary of tho Indiana Junioi Vegetable Growers Association in P|sß At the national convention in Washington, D C In Decemhei 1959, she was elected Central Director <»f the National organization. This will be Miss Karn s seventh year in 4- H club work and her fourth year as junior leader.
