Linda Huhnke Wins Award At Sunday Concert The Walkerton High School Band presented their annual Spring Concert last Sunday to an audience of about 200 It was a very enoyable concert with a vast variety of music. Highlights of the concert were the performances of the soloists. LiMarr Kronk did an exceptionally fine job playing the trumpet with "Have Horn Will Travel', as did the quintet of Linda Huhnke, Judy Wiktorowski, Bennis Guard, June Dill and Pat McK \sson rendering "Five Mellow Winds." • r .1 EfeAMISS LINDA HI'HNKE The Arion A warri. which is presented annually to the outstanding senior band member, was presented to Linda Huhnke, who has played first chair in the cl an net section for the past year besides being head librarian. She is also,valedictorian of the 1960 graduating class. The concert was very well received by the audience and aftei th concert, many of the students and band boosters enjoyed a pot luck dinner and dancing, honoring the band members on their successful year. JUNIOR UNCOLNETTES There will be a meeting of the Junior Lincolnettcs 4-H Club on May 5 at 3:30 p.m. In the Walkerton High School cafeteria. Installation of officers will b« held. Winners Named In Snethen Contest Orations I ‘'o annual Snethen oratorical contest, held in the high school Thursday, April 2H, was 3 very successful event as twelve students of the local high school competed for honors in the fields of orations, dramatic readingand humorous readings. Griffith, a graduate of five speech department of Indiana University, a student of the American A< a demy of Dramatic Ait and a former speech teacher in the speech departments in Seattle and Spokane Washington High Schools. Mrs John Guttman was the chairman of the Oratorical division. The contestants want to express their thanks again tr Mr E. O. Snethen for making this contest possible.
