Visiting Matrons And rations Night A Big Success March 11 was visiting matrons and patrons night at Walkerton Chapter O. E. S, at which tune Mrs. Steve Kratovil, Grand Adah. David Miller, Grand Marshal and Mis. LaMar Stahly, Deputy of District 20, were also honored. Mis. G V v M >• ’i, an A. J. Daniels, Worthy Patron, of Walkerton Chapter presided. Mrs Reid escorted the Grai 1 Chaplain, Bradley J. Swift, of Angola, t<> the East. Our c mductress, Mrs Wayne Dipcrt. and Mr i. P ' then escorted Mrs. Kratovil and David Miller to the West where Dr. El mtt Era h sang a parody to the tune of "The Bells Are Ringing”. Nelson Walz, presented Mrs Kratovil with a wrist bouque* and gift from the chapter while Al Drews presented Mr. Miller with his gift. They were then escorted to the East. Mrs Dipert escorte 1 the Deputies from Districts 19 and 21, Mrs. D Oak and Miss Barbara L. Miller, respectively, to the East for seating. Mrs Dipcrt then escorted our past matron and present deputy o£ District 20. Mrs. LaMar Stahly, to the West where her husband presented her with a wrist bouquet and g ft from the chapter Rnd Dr. Frash sang a cute song to the tune of ‘‘The Old Oaken Bucket’’. He escorted her to the East where the Buttons and Beaus, as the Matrons and Patrons of thu district call themselves, sang a song to the tune of "California Here I Gwne". Grand Chanter committee members, grand representative from Florida, and the preaiding matrons and patrons all introduced themselves. Dr Frash sang them a' ditty to the tune of "Caissons Go Rolling Along ” After introduct ions of jnist matrons and patrons, wives f husbands of grand officers, chapter was again called to order. Delphi McKesson, David Miller and Virgil King then gave short talks as di I Mrs. Kratovil, Mrs. George Robinson and Mrs. Georgi* Wilson. Mrs. I LaMar Stahly was then honored with the birthday song, her birthday being on Saturday. She thanked all of Acers and chapter members for making her year as; deputy so pleasant and for the, many kindnesses shown her. Sho then read a poem, "Friends”, which she especially dedicated to th? "Buttons and Beaus’’. It was men-] tinned that the Worthy Matron' and Patron of Lakeville ami the Worthy Matron of Mishawaka chapter, had not missed a meeting all year. Our Worthy Matron th* i sp< ke to Joan and pre ented h.<*r with a birthday gift from the Buttons and Beaus. Chapter was th m closed, after which four of our Rainbow Girls. Misses Nancy Barden, Nancy Cripe, Jennie Morrison and Pat Van Dyke, sang three ; lovely numbers, "Beyond the S inset”, the third verse of which Mm Cripe spoke in a very impressive manner while the other girls hummed along with her: "Waltzing to the Tunc of Rock and Rol”. ded icated to David Miller; and "M wv Had a Little Lamb', honor ng Mu. Kratovil. whose name is Mary Our Worthy Matron then fmisncd with a talk about her year being spent and her “Get Up and Go ■ being spent also. AH then adjourned to the dining room for a delicious salad bar । served by Mrs. John McCombs and I her committee. Decorations were in charge of Mrs. Hairy Johnson and the vouchers were a 1-day suckri.i wrapped in small white dollies. The , grand officers’ table was centerc 1 , with an imitation merry-go-round while all places were set with small paper cups filled with green mints covered by a cornucopia hat. those of the Buttons and Beaus and grand officers having their name imprinted on same which they wore ’hiring the eating. Each officer received a lovely silver bell ; with a star for a handle. Pink and blue balloons were floating around the dimng room- -all this in honor of Joan’s birthday. There were more than 2 guests, some of whom came from Angola. Argon. Bourbon, Bremen, Bristol. Culver. Elkhart. Evansville .Goshen. Kendallville, Hebron, Mi ford. Lakeville. Leesburg.
