Fertilizer Specialist Talks To Farm Class; i "Beef Feeding For Profit" Next Subject

Thirty-five members of th? Widkerton Adult Farmer Class heard Jerne Taggart, fertilizer specialist representing the E. I DuPont Co., duruss nitrogen fertilizer materials and thrir uses. Mr. Taggart, **ho holds a bachelors degree m chemistry from Columbia University, and an M S. in agronomy from the University of Maryland. outlined a program under which consistently high com yields in the area of 300 bushels per acre are being attempted. He pointed out that in these field trial” *or’ilize* > ” are being applied at between I’3 and 2 tons per acre and populations of 30,000 stalks per uie H ic being us«m.
