Mrs. J. Kemp Tunis is attending the Ministers Wives Retreat at Turkey Run Monday and Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Williams were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hendricks of Herschel’, 111., and other friends at Dwight and Buckingham, 111. Mrs. Jo Campbell has as her ■ house guest this week, Mr. and M>rs. S. W. Schneider, of Sunland, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bouse and children were evening supper guests on Monday. The Fellowship Class of the E. U. B. church will hold their class meeting Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Hazel Barden, with Mrs. Wilder Burnsides assisting. . and Mrs. Fred Best report tAat their son. Bill, is in a hospital xn Phoenix, Arizona, where he recently underwent two major operations (Nos. 13 and 14). One was for the removal of his gall bladder and the other was for fusing of the ankle bone. Bill suffered a severe attack of polio the week he graduated from the Walkerton High School in 1946. Two years later he was able to attend Indiana University from which he was gradu- 1 ated in 1952 in Business Admini- ' stration. 1 Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy i spent the week end in Garrett : visiting friends. I Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rice of Salem, Ohio, are spending the week as guestg of Rev. Jerry Rice and family. T. J. Francis Wolfe was brought to the Walkerton Nursing Home Monday. He would be happy to have his friends visit him there. Lt. and Mrs. Joseph Murphy are guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Morris. They will leave soon for Minnesota where they will make their home. Mrs. Opal Singleton, of Valparaiso, was a house guest for the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith and son. Rance. She also called o n relatives and friends at North Liberty. Mr. Shrader and son Roy, of Hamlet, and Mrs. Lydia Geppert were Sunday dinner guests at the John Stutsman home in Grovertown. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Walsh and Dorothy were guests Friday evening in the William R. Waller home in Tyner. Dorothy left Tuesday to enter her senior year at Purdue university. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hayter last week were Mrs. Roger Hasking and children, Mack, Gary and Lisa of Muncie. Mr. Hasking was enjoying a week fishing in Canada. Mrs. J. F. Spencer, Mrs. Charles Worrell and Mrs. Gus Verkier were delegates to the 13th District Federated Club Convention at Plymouth on Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lidy and Kathy, and Mrs. Emma Gouker arc attending the Centerville Fair this Thursday. Miss Esther Rupel returned to Purdue University Wednesday to resume her work as instructor in the school of Home Economics. ^<r. and Mrs. Wayne Miller of Collingswood, New Jersey, arc spending several days as guests of Dr. and Mrs. Elliott Flash and family. Miss Marjorie Scott of Mishawaka spent the weekend with her family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott and Joyce. 12TH BIRTHDAY A birthday party was given for Phillip Bukowski Sunday, Sept. 13, by his mother and grandmother. Boys present were Everett Wallace, David McKesson, Billy Bierly, Bobby Winstead, Bobby Slone, Joseph Knowlton, Gary Richey and Phillip's brother, Rickey, Cake, ice cream and candy were served. Games were played and prizes won. Fun was had by all.
