New Koontz Lake Lions Club Receives Official Charter A lively crowd of 183 members of 17 Lions Clubs, their ladies and guests, attended the Charter Night celebration of the newly forme! Koontz Lake Lions Club. The meeting was held in the Groveitown High School on Tuesday evening, with a fine dinner opening the big, evenings activities for all presen.. Os course the highlight of the night was the award of the charte:! from Henry S. Chillas, Distr ct Governor of District 25-A. Accept । ing the charter from Governor' I Chillas was Eugene Hewitt, presi-j dent of the new club. This presen-' station officially puts the club into operation. . Also highlighting the evening t> the members of the club in parti-j Jcular, was the presenting of the. .i charter member pins. The fact that ■ the pin is clearly marked “Charter. • Member” is something to be proud of as the club grows and lives up to the Lions Motto, “We Serve.” ; After the meeting was called to order by Sam M. This inJ eluded 25 members fmm the Hammond Lions Club who uad the largest Lion representation. i ! Lorin Bigler, president of the Hamlet Club, then offered greetings to the new club and announced that tlie traditional gavel and bell had not been received at this time but ; wquld be given the club upon arrival. • The presenting of the charter member pins and charter followed with interesting talks given by Governor Chillas and president Hewitt. The meeting was adjourned following announcements by the various clubs, as the Koontz Lake Lions became of age.
