Mr. and Mrs. W.n. Hornaday visited Mr. and Mrs. Haul Hendr cks over Labor Day at Homer, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wray. Virginia, Alary Helen and Marnyn Hint, spen* the Labor Day week end at Waloon Lake near Petosky. AI cl>. Mr, and Mrs. Gene Clark, North Chicago, spent the week end here with her father, John Boker. Mrs. Clark remained for a longer visit. Anyone interested in joining a group of Women in doing ceramic work, will meet at the home of Mrs. Kemp Tunnis, Thursday evening, Sept. 17th, at 7:30 o’clock. Mr. and Mrs. Achiel Dunn and sons of Goshen were week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bellinger and children and Miss Deanne Mechling spent the week end at Magician Lake. Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chapman and Kenny, Air. and Mrs. George Ferverda accompanied Laura Lee to Benton Harbor, Mich., on Labor Day, where she appeared as a finalist contestant in the House of David Amateur Hour. They enjoyed dinner with the Robert Haas family of Hudson Lake earlier in the day. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Travis and children, Jerry and Susan, of South Bend, were last Thursday guests m the home of Mrs. Grace Atwood and Mrs. Maude Goodwillie. Sunday callers were Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Granger and son, Ellsworth Jr , of Mishawaka. On Monday they entertained Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Landers and Mrs. Ethel Landers of Jacksonville, Florida, whom they hadn’t seen for 45 years. Mr. and Mrs. Marcelien Van Wanzeele and Joey, and Mrs. Elsie B. Pollitt, of South Bend, spent Friday to Monday in Danville, Hl., where they attended a family reunion Sunday at the Kickapco State Park. On their way home they stopped for a short visit at Ruth and Roy Merchant’s near Morrocco, Ind. Don’t forget the Moonlight Cabaret Dance to be held at St. Patrick’s school grounds on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 to 12. Refreshments are offered and the music will be by Paul Futa’s Harmoniers. Tickets ar,e available from Father Letko or Mrs. William Haarman, and the donation is 75c pel’ person. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kellemeyer, Ppuglas and Angela, of Fortville, Ind., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lummis in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Ferverda Sunday an'd Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd 'Smith cf Kansas City, Mo., came to South Bend to visit their daughter Aug. 28. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Skinner accompanied them home and then went on to Lake of the Ozarxs where they vacationed for a week. They enjoyed fishing and boating. Clem DeCoudres and Howard Folk, of North Liberty, and Charles Finch. Hanna, attended the ninth annual session of the Indiana Laymen of the Methodist Church at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, Friday through Sunday. Mrs. Duane Crossley has resigned her teaching position at Grinnell College .Grinnell, lowa .and has moved to Bloomington, Indiana. She has been awarded an assistantship at Indiana University where she Will do graduate study. Her children, Norma and David, will b e in school there. Mr. and Mrs. John McCombs, Becky ami Bill, spent Saturday at the State Fair in Indianapolis, where Becky received a blue ribbon for her entry in Food Preservation 3. She received 2 blue ribbons and 2 superior ribbons at the LaPorte County Fair earlier this fall. Edward Keeling attended the State Fai]' in Indianapolis Friday and Saturday. Air. and Mrs. Raymond Tayler of Elkhart were week end visitors of Air. and Airs. John Wathen. Sun day visitors were Air. and Mrs. Ed Williams of Rensselaer. Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Miller and daughter and Bud Sweeney of Kentucky were week end visitors of the Hershberger family at their summer home on Lake Wawasee. Mr. and Airs. Rudolph Cecrle, John and Esther, visited Mr. Cecrle’s twin brother, Mr. and Airs. Stanley Cecrle and famiy in Rock Island, 111. On Saturday night they attended the annual Indian Powwow at the Black Hawk state forest. The guest of honor was the great, great granddaughter of old Chief Black Hawk. This is a very beautiful, colorful ceremony.

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP HOME I DEMONSTRATION CLUB MEET < Twenty-four members of the Lincoln Township Home Demonstration Club met Tuesday at th? clubhouse. Alarta Mal staff, the president, called the meeting to order and conducted a short business session. Hazel Schutz an June Ketcham were appointed to attended the lesson on New Fabries, their use and care, given in South! Bend Sept. 15 and 16, by Airs. । Lottie Summers, a Purdue Specialist. I Achievement Day was discussed! and plans were made for several! members to attend. This will bej held in South Eend in October. i At the close of the business session an auction was held with Nellie Smith as auctioneer. Nearly sls was realized by the sale.
