Local 0. E. S. Hosts Inspection Friday The first meeting of the Fall season of Walkerton Chapter O. E. S. was held on Tuesday, September Ist. The Worthy Matron, Mrs. Glen Stahly, opened the meeting with a cute poem on “Vacations.” The following guests were then introdu - ed: Mrs. LaMar Stahly. Deputy of District 20, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Sander, Past Patron and Matron of Cornerstone Chapter, Chicago; Mis. Lola. Hembre of Union Mi Is and Mrs. Albert Block, Cosmos Chapter, Chicago, and now a resident of Koontz Lake. After regular business was taken care as, Mrs. Harry Johnson was installed as Chaplain by our District Deputy. Mrs. Johnson will replace. Mrs. Robe, t Barton who moved to Crawfordsville. The Worthy Matron then c'osed the Chapter with a lovely poem on ’'Share With Others." Rainbow Night, twenty--sevcn Rainbow girls from Walkerton Assembly then marched into the Chapter Room and initiated Carol Sue Wilson into theip order in a ’ very fine manner. All then adjourned to the dining 1 room for delicious refreshments served by Airs. Robert Schaeffer and her committee. Don't forget that Friday, September 11th, Inspection of Walkerton, North Liberty and New Carlisle Chapters O. E. S. will be held by the Worthy Grand Matron, Mrs Russell Stott. There will be a dinner at 6:00 p. m. in the Masonic Temple for those who desire to part cipate. At 7:Oo p. m. awards will be given the fifty-year membeis of the three chapters at the Walkerton H gh School gym. Baby Dedication will be at 7:15 p. m. and Inspection at 7.30 p. m. At their regular meeting on September 15th, Walkerton Chapter will honor their Past Matrons and last Pat ions. Kconiz Lake Lions Club To Hold 'Charier Kight' The Koontz Lake Lions Club will hold their Charter Night Program Tuesday evening at the Grovertown High School. The program will be handled by Lions International Special Representative George Bormuth and the District officials, along with members of ,the Hamlet Lions Chib, the sponsor.

A- ■ Kiper, ,Ist vice-president; Leonard Free. 2nd vice-president; Jim Clark I 3rd vice-president; L. M. Thornburg, secretary; John Seese, treasurer; Forrest Cooper, tail twister; and Carl Gjemre Jr., Lion tamer. 1 The directors are: one year, Edward Peterson and Russell Holmquist; and two years, Chester Caprio and Walter Cockrell. The dinner will be served at 7 p. m. with the Band Boosters of Grovertown handling the entire meal. The interesting program will follow immediately. Crops team of Warren Wood, Dannie Thomas. Jim Seiders a d David Knowlton and chapter advisor Bill Blaisdell, journeyed to the fair where the boys participated in the state contest, ending 21st in a field of forty-two teams. On Friday, the chapter’s vegetable judging and identification team participated against 57 others and placed lS’h in the contest. Ben Daviy of Indianapolis, was Ist. Both contests use a highly tcchnicha] nature, dealing with ide tification of hundreds of varieties, Weeds, insects, grade defects disease, and the placing of classes of crop seeds and vegetables. This Thursday LaMar Kronk, Johnnie Stahly and Donnie Thoma:; will visit the final day’s activities at the fair and will play and march with the State FFA Band under he direction of Robert R.
