A surprise Birthday Party was given in honor of Mrs. Ole Jensen Monday afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Olin. Besides the Olins family Mr. and Mrs. K. Haskins, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jensen, and Mr-. Minnie Jacobs were present. Future Statesmen and Great Leaders may be growing up in your home. Will they have the benefit of Christian training? Marifrancis Tank Leaves for Hawaii Mi.-s Marifrancis Tank, daughter of Grant Tank, of Walkerton, is in San Francisco, Calif., awaiting orders to sail for Hawaii as one of a group of 75 nurses the Red Cross has enlisted for duty in the islands. Since Miss Tank’s graduation from St. Luke’s hospital in Chicago in 1935 until last October she was a member of the nursing staff in Epworth hospital. South Berni. In October she went to San Francisco to join the medical center association with the University of Lus Angeles. ■— — ■ DE ATH REC ORD | ■ _ ■ Morgan Dolph Morgan Dolph was born in Polk township, Marshall county, May 12, 1881 and died at his home near LaPaz, Feb. 8, 1942, age 61 years. He had l>een ill for about three months of a heart ailment. He had lived in the same community all his life and was a farmer. His marriage to Ruth Crothers took place July 12, 1917, in Plymouth. Surviving are his widow; four daughters. Miss Jessie Dolph, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Roberta Harbaugh, LaPaz. and Audrey and Shirley .Ann, at home; two sons, Edward and Robert, at home; three brothers, Clem, rural route No. 1, Plymouth; Dani'd, Hingham, Mont., and Albert, Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister. Mrs Rosa Reamer, Walkeiton, and one grandchild. Funeral services wVrc held Wed ne-day afternoon hi the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, Rev, Theodore Miller, Nappanee, oficiating. Burial was in the St. Johon’s Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. John D. Leßoy Mrs. Mabel M. I.eßoy, wife of' the late John D. Leßoy. who died in Waterloo, lowa, in 1918, passed away at Holy Family hospital, La Porte, at noon, Monday, Feb. 16, aged 82 years. She was born March 12, 1860 and had spent most of her life in and around La Porte. She is survived by two children,! Harry J. I.eßoy, of Crown Point,, Ind., aid Edgar D. Leßoy, Apple-' ton.
