Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leslie weje in Chicago Monday. Mrs. W. R. Kuhn spent Sunday and Monday in Mishawaka, with her sister, Mrs. Sarah Updike. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Ross of Michigan City, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mrs. Acta B. Ross. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bandendistel and daughter, Jean, and Miss Mary Bandendiste! spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bandendistel. Sgt. Vic Seidel, Kort Bliss, Texas, spent Friday and Saturday as the guest of Miss Jean Cotton, then continued to his home in Little Falls, New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Grubb, Belleville, Mich., spent Saturday to Monday with Miss Elizabeth Dcnaut. Mrs. Regina Denaut and Mrs. Grubb’s children. Mrs. Richard Creagmile, of Muncie, Ind., who underwent a major operation, Jan. 30, in Ball Memorial hospital, has returned home and is recovering nicely. Born to Mr. and Mrs. William Bowles, of Lansing, Mich., a baby daughter, Myrna Dean, on Monday, February 2nd. Mrs. Bowles was formerly Miss June Tuttle, of Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hahn entertained Sunday, in honor of the first birthday of their grandson, Neil Weekly. Mr. and Mrs. Weekly and Deloyce Cripe were also guests. Mrs. A. F. Sanders, Mrs. Charles Worrell, Mrs. Wm. Waddell and Mrs. Worth Leßoy attended a luncheon Saturday, given by the White Shrine in the Masonic Temple, South Bend. Mrs. Modest Burch entertained her bridge club Tuesday evening in her home. Mrs. Arthur DeMyer and Mrs. Geo. Hockett won the prizes. Mrs. Hockett and Mrs. David Lawrence were guests. Mrs. Nancy Walter entertained Sunday evening in honor of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. Beaty, who was celebrating her birthday. Other guests were Mr. Beaty, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cripe, Jr.*, and Mrs. Sadie Wolfenberger. Mrs. Keith Baker entertained Tuesday evening with a birthday dinner for Miss Mary Elizabeth Porter, of Plymouth. Other guests were Mrs. Geo. Porter and Mrs. Glen Chose, of Plymouth and Miss Pauline Lewis. They later attended the legion Auxiliary card party. Twenty-seven members and guests of the Mt. Vernon club were entertained Saturday evening in their dub house, with Mrs. John Mai tin and Mrs. Morton Masterman as hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sellers, Mrs. Lester McCroskey and W. J. I^eßoy won honors in pinochle and Cloyd Smith and John Steinke received prizes in euchre. Mrs. Gus Kerchaert and Mrs. Worth Ix*Roy will entertain the cluh in two weeks. Mis. Harry Doll, worthy matron of the Walkerton chapter Order of Eastern Star, will be the guest of the Warsaw chapter Friday evening at their annual Visiting Matrons and Patrons Night. She will fill the station of the worthy matron during the initiation ceremonies. On Tuesday evening, Mrs. Doll and Dr. Wolfe will l>e guests of the Plymouth chapter, Mrs. Doll to fill the station of Electa ami Dr. Wolfe to act as worthy patron. SPEAKING OF BRAKES, how are yours?
