The day end-i ed with a fine supper prepared by i Milo’s mother and sister, at the Slick I home. It might be mentioned that there were four stiff and lame men about town Tuesday. The November meeting of the Missionary Society of the Fnited Brethren church was hel^ at the home of Mrs. John DeMyer. A feature of the afternoon was a little sketch called “A Junior Flow’er Garden ' given by Mrs. Mabel Sheneman and Mrs. G. R. Champlin. Delicious refreshments were served Iby the hostess. Guests for the afternoon included Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Albngnt of Elkhart, Mrs. A. E Irvin of North Liberty and Mrs. T. E. Gordon, who became a member of the organization. The December meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Chas Cripe Jr. About 150 members and friends of the Methodist church attended the reception tendered Rev. and Mrs. Henry M. Braun and son Myron, in the Church parlors Monday evening. Following the pot luck supper, Claude Stull, as master of ceremonies took charge of the program. C. M. Finch gave the address of welcome, and response was made by Rev. Braun. Mrs. Chas. W’orrell expressed the church’s fare'well to Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Berry and Chas. Hahn and family, who are moving away from Walkerton. .A response was made by Mr. Hahn. Rev. G. R. Champlin, of the U. B. Church and Rev. C. E. Evers, of North Libertv also gave short talks. Several selections were played by the orchestra and vocal numbers were sung by Miss Helen Fults, Mrs. B. A. Sweigart, H. Reed, a girls quartette'and a male quartette. A short play concluded the program in which parts were taken by Mrs. Mae Griggslbv, Mrs. Earl Leslie, Mrs. C. M. Finch, Mrs. Claude Stull, Mrs. A. D. Winner, Mrs. Oscar Barney and Mrs. C. E. Houser.
