Mr. and Mrs. John Baughman visited Sam Row Sunday. A large audience greeted the North anchester College chorus at the church Sunday afternoon. The singing was much appreciated. Mrs. Lewis Schroeder who has been ill. Is able to be up and around. The Misses Grace Houser and Berniece Harbaugh have gone to South Bend to find employment. Dolph Bros, sold ten fine rams this week to H. W. Warren of the Oak Meadow farm of Three Oaks. Mich. Lots of folks are journeying to the county seat these days to pay the "rent” on the farm. Work has been resumed on the Pine road and it will soon be a finished job. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hartsough motored to North Manchester Saturday. The young people gave Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Moyer and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Mangus a noisy visit Saturday evening and as a result two ice cream socials are scheduled for May sth and 12th respectively. Mrs. Seward Reinhardt visited with Mrs. Ferry Uncapher in Knox last Tuesday afternoon. Our schools closed last Friday. It has been a very successful school year from every view point- | Our high school ball team played a return game with the Ober team on the Ober grounds last Friday afternoon, which resulted in a score of 18 to 2 in favor of Grovertown. This together with the other laurels won in the County track meet and athletics meet at Knox recently naturally make them feel highly elated over their prowess, and justly, too. Our high school commencement exercises were held in the High School auditorium last Thursda> evening. Rev. F. A. LeMaster of DePauw University gave the address. It was a thoroughly practical address and highly appreciated by a large audience. The graduates were Russel Richey, Graydon Walsh. Orris Farrar, and Irving Aronson. A by no means minor event of the evening was the burning of a fiery cross just before the exercises began in honor of the graduates. Mrs. Edward Malwin who recently underwent a serious operation in I the Plymouth hospital, is improving nicely at this time. The third quarterly conference of the U. B. church will be held in their church at this place Monday, May 6th, at ten a. m. Supt. J. A. Groves of Ixigansport has promsied to be here and deliver an address in the evening.
