Largest Hotel in the World , । The new Stevens Hotel in Chicagc | is to be the largest hotel in the world Popular Mechanics for February । gives a general descripion of it. It will occupy almost an entire ' I city block, between Michigan and ■ Wabash avenues. Seventh and Eighty streets, with 400 feet frontage on Michigan ave. An annex,will front on Wabash ave., for 52 feet. The main building will be twenty- । five stories above the pavement, anc ! on top of that four stories of roof promenade, with an observation tower. Below the street level there will be a basement, sub-baSement for the boilers, engine, pump and fanroom, and a still lower floor for handling ashes, the bottom of which will be 6 7 feet below the pavement line. In the basement will be an exhibition hall almost an acre in area. The Stevens will have about 3,000 bedrooms, or almost 800 more than the largest hotel now in existance Large club rooms for reading and rest rooms for employees will be provided, on separate floor for men ano women. While this far exceeds anything in the hotel line now in existence, no man dare predict how it will compare in scale twenty-five or even ten years hence.
