The local high school was defeated in basketball by the Teegarden five at the LaPorte Y. last Saturday night, by a score of 2 4 to 21. Both teams caged the ball 10 times from the floor but the Gardeners were more successful on the free throws. In spite of the handicapped condition of the local team in not having a gym, the boys continue to show marked improvement in the game tinder the coaching of E. Both teams have been playing good ball and the game promises to, be a good one. Williamson who formerly lived here is now employed with the Beuda Auto Co., of Harvey, 111., where the young couple wilt probably make their home in the near future. TROST. | Plans are now under way for a big father and son banquet to be given in Walkerton some time this month. Committees have been appointed to make arrangements for the program, speaker, place and menu and definite plans will be announced as soon as possible. The banquet will be a community activity and every man is asked to buy a ticket for himself, and one for his son (or adopted son), and to lend his support.

On Wednesday of this week several friends and neighbors of Mr. ano Mrs. A. Turner called at their home with well filled baskets and enjoyed a fine dinner and social time witn them. The meeting was a surprise on Mrs. Turner. Those present were Mrs. Mary Reamer, Mrs. Sgrah J, Groshans, Mrs. John Flack, Missed Alice and Clara Gould, Mrs. H. Reeder, Mrs. C. S. Thompson. Word has been received here from Rev. John M. Leonard, of Eagle Rock, Calif., telling of the death of Mrs. Leonard, which occurred last Sep tember 15. The Leonards went to California two years ago in hopes to benefit Mrs. Leonard's health. She was interred at Glendale, Calif., in Forest Lawn cemetery, near Los Angeles. Rev. Leonard will have the sympathy of many Walkerton friends, who remember him as a former pastbr of the Presbyterian church here. Have you ever used Green Cheveries?
