BUSINESS VIEW GOOD. Market Conditions Sound, Says Henry Clews, New York Banker. There is every reason to take a cheerful view of the business future. All the known forces are towards recuperation. As a result of recent house cleaning the financial situation is exceptionally sound, and there is nothing in sight, to prevent an unusually prompt return of business to the normal, at least in volume if not in profit. Our railroads are exceptionally well situated; some croak1 ing managers to the contrary. The outlook for industrials is also more satisfactory, The iron industry is still a good trade barometer; and, if the orders received by the United States Steel Corporation are any indication, the outlook is certainly promising. Orders for about 1,000,000 tons of iron valued at ■ $25,000,000 to $30,000,000 were placed in । October; the sales of copper were unusually large; a decided improvement has taken place in the cotton goods trade; the grocery trade is more active, and the general revival of enterprise is shown in the large increase of new incorporations. Sport For the Deer Hunters. Judging from the number of carcasses of deer being shipped through Elkhart the last few days, hunters in northern Michigan and other points are having good luck. Several were shipped through yesterday and some this morning being transferred at this point. One specimen noticed this morning which was billed to Burr Oak, was unusually large.—Elkhart Truth. TESTED AND PROVEN. There is a Heap of Solace in Being Able to Depend Upon a WellEarned Reputation. For months Walkerton readers have seen the constant expression of praise for Doan’s Kidney Pills, and read about the good work they have done in this locality. Not another remedy ever produced such convincing proof of merit. Fred Kabelin, painter, living at 116 Allen St., LaPorte, Ind., says: “I am as firm a believer in Doan’s Kidney Pills today as I was when I gave my first statement for publication in our local papers about six years ago. As then stated, my kidneys had been badly deranged, Doan’s Kidney Pills gave me prompt and positive relief, and 1 have told many persons what they did ’ for me. I am glad at all times to let others know the value of this medicine.” For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents. Foster-Milburn Co., Buffalo. New York, sole agents for the United States.
