Just received at this office from Mess. Applegate & co., 43 .Main Strret,. Cincinnati, O., a supply of their new book on the Soro culture, by that pioneer of thin new branch of Agriculture, Issac A. Hedges, Eqr., of Dayton. It is the whole subject so far as developed. Indispensable to every cultivator. Call and get a copy. ' CITIZl'.NS! There will be a meeting at the Court House at t P. M., to-day, (Fridav,) to rmke arrangements for inclosing the gr.ive-yard with a new fence. Xearly enough money has .been subscribed to efiect this object, and it will be necessary to appoint a Superintendent or Committee to take the work in hand. There should be a general attendance. I'.MOX .Mi:i7TI. We have recri veJ' the rcjolutiom adopted at a meeting of citizens of Nettlecreek Township, in tht!1 county, a few diva ago. Owtn to the crowded state of our columns, we cannot do more thn refer to the sentiments ex pressed. Th?y approve mo5t heartilv the course of President Lincoln, and of Governor Morton, assure our soldiers in the field of our pride and tro?t in them, and denounce all who eek to hinder the working of the government. They protest ?gainst an armistice, as an implement of warfare not ' - t Mnionedb-military authorities, One thing we tipecially commend
they pledge themselves to proride fop the wants of the families of soldiers. The report of the proceedings is signed by J. P. Hunt Ch'n, and M. H. Hunt Sec'v. We take thi3 occasion to thank our friends in that quarter for their expression of interest in the Journal, and hope they will give us the tangible encouragement of a few new subscriptions.
II. Sieo & Co., thankful for past favor,-beg leave to gay to their present customer?, and all others wanting something "to wear," that they are just receiving a new-supply of goods that they arc prepared to cut and make in the most fashionable and substantial manner. "Come and see." Dr. William Macy, of Farmland, one of the "oldest inhabitantsV of that vicir.ity, has sold all his property' there, and removed to Wisconsin. CQrSec Advertisement of Land for sale, in another column, J. D. Carter's, No. 8, cast front, seems still to be a centre of attraction to goods' buyers. He is a live trader, the more he eells the more he seems to have to sell. MK Harris, of the Bee Hive ptore under this Office, is now away to purchase his. Spring goods. Look out for a large and choice assortment at his store about Saturday. Any one having a farm to sell or trade for lands west will meet with a good opportunity by callins soon on .Mr. C. A. Averv, of our town. See his advertisment in this piper. i:x a?i i n i:ks n r pa ut.h i :nt. Winch rster, Siturdny 23th, lbG3. Mk. I have issued four such certificates, and have an application for another of the kind before me; but those who read this article may he informed that the last of such certificates is issued. We have teachers who are qualified to teach all the branches required to be taught in our common schools, and to such I entrust, and not thoe who, before they can get license to enable them to i draw the Public Fund, must call a meeting of the citizens of the district and vote out Grammar, Geography and Menial Arithmetic, as not necessary to lie taught in the school. Hence, forth, a meeting may "vote our all such teachers in company with those branches. Taking thetc chers of Randolph all together, there nre many t whose hearts are in the work, many who are preparing to make teaching a profession and sacrificing all other interests for a cause that, above all others, needs assiftance. Our prospect3 for the futuie are brightening.
