THURSDAY MORNING. DEC. 4, 1&6.

Th Election of Fiemont to tlie U. S. Senate. The proposition to elect CoL Fremont to the U. S. Senate, by the New York Legislature, is thus co oily disposed of by the N. Y. Tribune : "We hare receded from a respected correspondent a letter intended for publication, adYocaticg the election of Col. Fremont as United States Senator from this j3tate. We also observe that the same thing i recommended in one or two u Republican " newspapers. No doubt CcL Fremont would do credit to the Empire State in that capacity; but, as he Is not a citizen of New York, the project ia Impracticable. If he is elected to the Senate at all, it must be by California, to which State he belongs. That is sending the explorer back to Cali

fornia a little quicker than any mule express erer yet organized could possibly carry him. The Tribune and the political interest which it represent would, of course, be the last to permit Fremont to represent New York in the U. S. Senate. There are insuperable objections to an event of that kind, which the Tribune, from motives of policy, does not choose to state. The pretense that if he is elected to the Senate at all, it must be by California, in

which State he belongs, is all gammon.

Interesting letter from Kansas. We take the following from a letter written by a free State man in Kansas to the N, Y', Times, (Republican,) in which paper it appeared on the 26th ult. The writer speaks with candor, and we have no doubt with truth. Lecomptojt, K. T., Nor. 15, 1850. Now that the excitement of the Presidential camta'gn has partially died away, it is f roper that Northern men who bave.Uken an active interest in behalf of Free Kausa, should look over the present condition of affairs coolly and calmly and go to work

practically.

condemn the policy adopted at tho Big

Spring Convention and its consequences. The attacks upon Lawrence and the retaliation of Lano are matters of history. Wi.h the arrival of Gov. Geary a new era was in

augurated in this Territory. He found the

people of Kansas in a state of civil war, and

contending factions calling to their aid assistance from both Northern and Southern States, and in their zeal partizans were willing to sacrifice the Union, and destroy all their hopes for the future for the sake of gratifying temporary feelings of revenge. Emigration next spring must come to Kansas. So let it be. But emigrants should come as peaceable men, determined to sapport the laws we have, rather than have no laws at all; and in the course of a few months j fi.ll tha mmnlaintu RT&ir.at tha laws can be

The Pills invariably open those obstructions to which females are liable, and bring nature Into its propor channel, whereby health tare stored, and the pale and deathly countenance changed to a healthy one. No female can enjoy good health unless she Is regular; and whenever an obstruction takes place, whether from exposure, cold, or any other cause, the general health immediately begins to decline, and the want of such a remedy has been the cause of so many consumptions among young females.
