The Editor of the United States' Telegraph proposes to publish an extra semi

pamphlet form, to be devoted to the discus

and extent of the powers of the Federal Government the abuses of the Executive power, and the remedy against them an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, giving the election of President to the people, and taking the ultimate choice

from the House of Representatives the de

that dependanee and the remedy the cur

Some of the Eastern papers express strong doubts as to the confirmation, by the Senate, of Mr. Taney, as Secretary of tkc Treasury, and, as we think, not without good cause. There is much reason to believe that the appointment will not be confirmed. The late pliablnicsa of the new Secretary

Said Jcnos, we learn, lately resided in the Southeast corner of Monroe county, and it is believed he now makes his home some where in Morgan county, and has a number

of accomplices in that direction to aid him in his villainous conduct. The public should, therefore, be on the alert, both to detect and

bring this man to justice, and to guard against further impositions from him and his party. Jones is represented as a small man about 30 years old, sandy complexion, fierce look, has a small indentation on the right side of his chin, brown cloth frock coat with a velvet collar, and black fur hat.

07 Printers throughout the State are re

quested to aid in bringing this man to justice, by copying the altovc in their respective papers, or by making such remarks as they may deem necessary, and the favor shall be reciprocated.

Fac-simile cf the Avery Letters- We

have seen the fac-similes of these letters in the hands of the intended publisher, and were as

tonished at their perfect re8euiblance,the nicest

inspection cannot discover the slightest varia

tion from the originals in the office of the Clerk

of the Supreme Court, with which we compared

them. We reccommend them to the attention of every one who has or shall have a copy of th trial, or of 'Aristides.' There are but few who doubt the guilt, of the man, but when the letters attributed to him are examined and compared with bis acknowledged letters, there

"will not be left a loop to hang a doubt upon." It is conceded by all, that whosoever was the writer of the letters to Sarah Maria Cornell, was accessary to her murder. 'Die object in

publishing the fac-similes is to enable every one who chooses, to examine, compare, and determine for himself. The letters will be published on paper exactly similar to that on which they were written the yellow letter on yellow, and the pink letter on pink paper, to preserve their esact similarity .
