4. The bank, and all its offices, shall be bound to recive, in payment of balance due them from other banks, notes or bills of the Bank of the United States,

5. The very important power is re
served of restraining the circulation of all bills under twenty dollars. This provision was inserted for the alleged purpose of giving up a large portion of the circulation of the Bank to the institutions, if the States shall be of opinion, that the puclic good requires a withdraw from circulation of all notes under
hve dollars, with a view to the introduction of a a great portion of specie into the general circulation. G. The member of Branches is limited to two in any one Stnte.
II. S. RANK, The National Intelligencer of June 13th says, The bill which has passed
the Senate to renew the charter of the Bank of the Uuited States has passed its first danger in the House of Representatives. The attempt to destroy it without taking a direct vote upon it, yesterday made in the House of Representa
tives, though nustaincd by a respectable vole,yet,as a demonstration against the bill, was a 6ignal failure. The vote upon it ha strengthened our hope of its passsng the House, especially when we observe that some members, whose districts are known to be most decidedly
in favor of the measure, voted for laying the bill on the table, and others simil
arly situated were unluckily absent
To-day, there will probably be another
trial to cet rid of the bill by postpone
mcnt, and we presume that every member who is in the city wil be at his post
at an early hour
