All day yesterday, there were erideot signs of preparation for the coming, last graad illumination and Republican jubilee, last evening. The day was bright and sunshiny and the ereaiog was gloriously brilliant. The very stars seemed to contend above.with tha bright halo of lights below. It seemed tons we never saw the streets of Terre Haute so thronged. Every good citizen with his wife and children were promenading and enjoying the triumph of the right orer wrong. The WideAwakes those glorious Republicans, who have fought so nobly during the great struggle through which we have just passed were out in procession with torches and caps and capes. . Masie on the big drum and the little drum, on brass horns and on the fife, echoed along the streets and led the procession. it soon may, and the sooner the better for me, I would faia be borne thither, to rest, "In the sleep that is dreamless and last iog and deep," 'neath the solemn shade of those grand old pine trees, that I used to lore so devotedly in my boyhood days, and for which, I still cherish an affection, that only increases with advancing years.
