DR.JOHNSTON,
Member of tho Koyal College of Surgeons, London graduate from ine of the most eminent Colleges or the United States and thc greater pnrt of whose lif« has been spent iu the Hospitals orLondon, Paris, Philadelphia, and elsewhere, ha* effected seme of the meat astonishing curts that were ever known. Many troubled with ringing in the ears and head when asleep, preat nervousness, being alarmed at sudden sound*, andbashftilnesa, with freqent blushing, attended sometimes with derangement of miud. Wore cur«d dlately.
A CERTAIN DISEASE.
When the misguided and imprudent votary of pleas* ure finds he has Imbibed the seeds of this disease, it too often happens that an ill timed sense of shame, or dread of discovery, deters him from applying to these who, from education and respectability, can alone befriend him, delaying until the constitutional symptoms of this horrid disease make their s^pearanco. such as ulcerated sore throat, diseased nose, nocturnal pains in thead and limba, dimness of tight, deafness, node* on thc skin, bones and artus, blotchcs on the head, face .and estremeties, progrew on with frightful rapidity, till at last tke palate of the mouth or the hones of the nose fall in. and the victim of this awful disease becomes a horrid object of tommtscra* tion, till death puts a period to his dreadful euffeilngs, by sending Mm to that "bourne whence no traveler returns." To such, therefore, Dr. JOHNSTON pledges himself to observe the most inviolable aecrecy and, from his extensive practice In the first hospitals cf Europe and America, he can confidently recommend a safe and speedy cure to tlie unfortunate Victim of this horrid dissease. It is a melancholy fact, that thousands fall victims to this horrid dtgeusc, owing to the unskillfuluess of those who, by the uso of tlia,t deadly poison, mercury, ruin the constitution, and either send the unfortunate sufferer to an untimely grave, or else mako the residue of his life miserable. sjjp
TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE. & Young men who have Injured themnelves by a cer% tain practice Indulged in wk«i alone—a habit lYei nuently learned from evil companions, or atsihool— tne effects of which are nightly felt, even when asleep, and tf not cured, renders marriage impossible, and dc •troys botn n.lnd and body.
What a pity a young man, the hope of hi* country, and the darling of his parents, should be snatched from all prospects and enjoyments of life by the conoo.
uences of deviating from the path of nature, and IKIn a certain sccret habit. Such persons, bc% fore contemplating
marriage,
should reflect that a noand mind and body are the most necessary requisites to promote connubial happiness. Indeed, without these, the journey through life becomes a weary pilgrimage, tho prospect hourly darkens to tho vl«w—tlie mind becomes ha.lowed with despair, and filled with the melancholy reflection, that the happiness of another becomes blighted with our own.
CONSTITUTIONAL DEBILITY. Dr. J. addresses young men, and all who have in. jurcd themselves by private and Improper Indulgences.
These are some of thc and and melancholy effects produced by early habits of youth, vlt: Weaknefs of thc Back and Llmba, Pnlns lo the Head, Dimness of Sight, Loss of Muscular Power, Palpitatlou of the Heart, Dyspepsia, Nervous Irritability, Derangements of the Digestive Functious, General Debility, Symp. toms of Consumption, drc.
MENTALLY.—'The
feaiful effects on the mind are much
to be dreaded LOM of Memory, Confusion of Ideas, Depression of Spirits, Evil Forebodings. Aversion to Society, Self-Distrust, Love of Solitude, Timidity, 4c.,are some of the evils produced.
THOUSANDS of persons, of all ages, can now liulgtf' what Is the cause of their decline In health.
