sncccsti of the democratic candidate for the State Senate!!

O" Wc do not know of any candidate whose tucceet has put hirti in such an unenviable position as that of our neighbor of the TerreHaute Journal, lie has succecdcd to the pros-ecutor-shjj) of this circuit, boating $cattering largely, and now, without much experience, has to practice before a Judge whom he considers a "disorganieer," nnd for whose opinions he enn entertain but little respect. We suppose when he is up tript, he must appeal from the decision of the Judge to that of the by-slanders I We will help yon, William, all we can.

IHr A game lunch came off at NKt'JiirfstiH's on yesterday ut 11 o'clock, nnd a full table present made a hearty meal. Every thing went with great gusto, as all were prepared handsomely and cooked well. Mr. N. shoots his own game, and always picks out the finest duks to grace his table. He intends keeping up his lunch, with his hot coffee and oysters, which will tnnke his stand always in demand. Call and see hi*, fixius.

Gx.v. Stai'P.—We published some appointments for this gentleman lastwwk, for public speaking at v^.iou* places up the Wabash.— Ho arrived at this place yesterday, and finds from the Illness of a relative at Madison, that he must hasten homeward. He left on the cars this morning, and will not be able to fill any further appointments on the Wabash.

O* The Stale Fair commence# to day at Indianapolis. A very large crowd is anticipated from all parts of the State. We hope to be present, leaving Wednesday morning, to be absent until Friday evening. We shall report ^rhat we see, if we see anything interesting.

DR. JOHNSTON.

Member of the Roysl College of Surc»ons, London, graduate from one of the most eminent Colleges of the United States, and the greater part of whoa* life has: been spent in the Hospitals of London, Paris, Philadelphia, and else where, has effected some or the most astonishing cures that were ever known. Mauy troubled with ringing in the ears and hesd when arierp, great nervousueaa, being alarmed at sudden sounds, anil bashfulncas, with frequent blushing, attended sometimes with derangement of mind, were cured immediately.

A CERTAIN DISEASE.

Wheu the misguided and imprudent votary of pleasure finds he ha* imbibed the seeds of thia disease, it too often happens that an illtimed sense of shame, or dread of discovery, deters him from applying to those who, from education and respectability, can alone befirieud him, delaying until the constitutional symptoms of this horrid disease make their appearance, such as ulcerated sore throst, diseased nose, nocturnal pains in the head and limbs, dimness of sight, deafuess, node*on the skin, bones sud arms, blochr* on the head aud fnce, sud exlemeties, progress on with rriglilful rspidily, till at last the palate of the mouth or the bones of tbe nose fall iu, sud the victim of this awfUl disease becomes a horrid object of commiseration, till death puts a period tools dresdful sufferings, by tending him to "tnat bourne whence no traveler returns." To such, therefore, Dr. JOHNSTON pledges himself to observe the most inviolable secrecy and, Irom his extensive practice iu thr first ho*, pilal* of Europe and America, he can confidently recommend a safe and speedy cure to the unfortunate victim of this horrid disease. It is a melancholy f»t that thousands fall victim* to this horrid disease, oiringtothe uuskillfUlness of thoie who,by the u*e of that deadly poison, mercury, ruin the constitution, and either send the unfortunate sufferer to an untimely grVve, or else mske the residue of his life miserable.

TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE. Young men who have injured themselves bv a certain practice indulged In when alone—a habit frequently learned from evil companions, or at school— the effects of which are nightly felt, even when asleep, and if not cured, renders marriage impossible, and destroys both mind and body. tviiat a pity a young n.an, the hope of his country, and the darling of his parents, should be snatched fri.m all prospects snd enjoyments of life by the consequen ces of deviation from the path of nature, and indulging ins certain secret habit. Such penon*, before contemplating

MARRIAGE,

should reflect that a sound mind and body are tho mote ie Joi becomes a weary pilgrimage, the prospect hourly

darkens to the view—the mind becomes shadowed with desnalr, snd filled with the melancholy reflection, that the hsppinrss of snother becomes blighted with our own.

These are some of the sad snd melancholy effects produced by early habita of youth, vlt: Weakness of the Back and Limbs, Pains In the Head, Plmness of Sight, Loss of Musculsr Power, Pslpltullon of tho Heart, of the Dljei toms of Consumption, tc.
