ARRIVAL OF TUE BRIT AW XI A. Thirteen Days Later from Europe—
Farther Decline in Breadstuff's—Improvement in Cotton— Arch bishop of Canterbury Dead—State of Affairs in Austria—Great Distress in Ireland.
Boston, March 4—4 P. M.
The Royal Mai! Sleamer Britannia was telegraphed at 11 A. M., and arrived in her berth at 3 o'clock.
From the private correspondence of the New York Tribune and Philadelphia North American, and also from papers and circulars. I have condensed the following report of the markets and a general intelligence worth dispatching by telegraph.
Liverpool, Feb. 12—12 M.
Bread«tufFs have declined steadily since the sailing of the last sleamer, and quotations indicate a reduction of 1 shillineper brl on Flour. 3 shillings per qr. in Corn.
The principal cause of this decline was the very greatly increased home supplies. Operations during the last week have been chiefly of a retail character.
The duties will be resumed, agreeably to notice, on the 1st of March. The following comparative tables show the extent of the decline in the several articles of Breadstuff*:
Uu Red per 70 lbt. Cotton has considerably improved, especially the lower grades. The quotations are, for Louisiana, Ordinary to Middling 4j to 4?l Fair and Good Fair 5a5|d, Good Fair 5=1 to 5$1.
During the week ending 11th in«tant, the sales comprise 32,000 bales of which 7,8S0 were Upland, at 4\ to 5]d.and 12,75 bales Orleans, 4 to 6d.
The imports since the 1st of January comprise 95.000 bales against 113,000 bales were from the United States--be-ing a decrease of 45,000 bales. 1 he slock in port is only 28,000 bales against 148.000 last year.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is dead. England has warned Austraia that any further interference wilh the Pope, will be by the British Government considered a declaration of wur, and will be treated accordingly.
The slate of affairs in Ireland continue in a most distressing condition. The Young Ireland party are for immediate war on England. To protect life and property and put down the numerous riots which daily occur, the military are being stationed in all the principal towns, nnd the.papers teem with reports of disturbances cnused by tho mobs coming in collision with tho police.
Tlic Aniicxntlon of Canada lo tlic Untied Satlos. An «vent whose occurrence we now regard a question only of time—is beginning to be talked, as well as thought, nbout in lliat country. A communication in the Montreal Courier of the l»t in#t., opens in this wise:
Shall we have a separation from the Mother Country ami become a Republic? or shall tot- join the Onited States?— These are the two questions upon which tho country *nust now decide. Mr. L. Joseph Papiwenu has declared for a Republic. He has caused one rebellion to obtain it.
Two American Men-of-W arorokrkd to VsNKZCSLA.—The following telegf aph despatch from Washington,*pp«ars in th# N. Y. Herald, of yesterday morning:
Orders were issued to*day irom the *y Department, for two vewelsto sail for Laguayra, with a view to prevent any further attempts *t massacre at Caracens, and to aid in the rc-esiablishmcnt of peace generally throughout Venezuela.

Tho simple fact that annexation to the American Union is admitted to be a question open for discussion, is significant, and is a striking indication of the change that has taken place in public senBEIiIVrre-Hnute timent in Canada within a few years.— The recent election of Mr. I'apiskau to the Provincial Parliament, in the face of J)is explicit declaration in favor of making Canada an independent republic, and the return of a Parliamentary majority favorable to reform, are facts, too, that will be productive of important results. We do not apprehend the outbreak of another immature, ill-concerted rebellion, like that of 1637, or of a rebellion of any kind but unless we are greatly mistaken in the signs of tho times, Canada is on the eve of a very great and interesting change of her relations lo Great Britain and this country. Commerce, as Carlylo says, is king, and in obedience to its power—well nigh omnipotent now in the destinies of nations—will the change we anticipate be wrought.—Buffalo Patriot.
