AN Inquisition taken at the house of Hen ry Stake a an, in Terre Haute, Vigo county, on the 10th day of March, 1863, before John D. Murphy, Coroner of said county, over the body of an infant. Verdict as follows:—That said infant came to its death by some unnatural means by the bands of Elizabeth Stewart, its supposed mother.

fice of the company, either at Terre Haute, Indiana, or Marshall, Illinois, until and on the 15th day of May, 1853, at sundown, tor the grading and masonry from Terre Haute, Indiana, to Pocahontas, Illinois, (124 miles,) and for the bridge across the Wabash river.

Propositions will also be received until and on June 15th, 1853, at sundown, at either of the above named offices for the grading and maaonry from Pocahontas to CaseyvHle, (30 miles.) Proposals to be teceived for sections not less than one, nor more than three miles.

Proposals will be considered for sections often, fifteen nnd twenty miles. The compa iy reserves the right to acccpt of such proposals as in their judgment will best secure the prompt construc tion of the Road, and to reject any sitions they may think proper. Pr cifications can be seen at tne office in Terre Haute for two weeks previous to the letting
