It" France »ad Inieo. The New Y#rk Herald publishes the following from Mexico:

It appears that 6 grave mi sultderatand ing has taken place between the French Minister and the Mexican Government growing out ol the promise to pay 9f, 600,000 on account of the English debt The question was, to know whether or

not the duty imposed by the fiscal laws upon the money sent to a foreign coun~ try, would be paid. M. Falconnet, the representative of English creditors, held that the arrangement would not be in accordance with good faith if tht credi tors were to pay 1200,000 duty on the funds. The Mexican Government ap

Eroved

the reasons of M. Falconnet.— ut the French Minister protested, and demanded that the law should be ap plied to all alike, fie sent very stroug and diplomatic notes to the Mexican Government and it is said that one was returned to the legation. It is, says Le Trait Union, the cause of the departure of ihe Secretary of the Legation for France. It is believed tha: the English Minister has promised his aid to the Mexican Government in the affair. If so, it witl become a Franco-Anglo Mexican question.

the title of a second edition of

a book that lately appeared in Boston, that gives the reputed wealth of about 2000 men in Massachusetts who are worth 5100,000 or more, with brief sketches of the lives of nearly 1500 of them. The aggregate property of these men is put down at $248,689,000. Of the rich men 28 are worth 5100,000,000 or upwards. The leading wealthy class appears to be tho mercantile. 663 of whom have a place in thiscurious book. The next wealthy class is the farmers, of whom there are 140.

LEGISLATIVE.

In the House of Representatives, on the 22d ult, Mr. Linder, who is an inveterate joker, as well as a source of per petual annoyance to the

rose ahd said he had some information which might be of importance to the House, and which he desired to communicate. 'Leave!' Leave!' 'Leave!' resounded from all parts of the House.

Mr. Linder resumed—'The Whig convention at Baltimore have nomina ted Gen. Windfield Scott for President of the United Stales!' "Order!' Order!' Order!' was heard from at least twenty members.

Mr. Linder—'1 have said all 1 wish to. Gentlemen, those who object shot Id reduce their objections to writing.' [Mr. Linder and a good many others retired to commenced the ratification.]Chicago Journal.

EARLY RISING.—Happy

the man who

is an early riser. Every morning comes to him with a virgin love, full of bloom, and purity and freshness. The copy of nature is contagious, liko tho gladness of a happy child. I doubt if any m«n can be callod "old" so long ashe is an early riser and an early walker. And ayouth—take my word for it—a youth in dressing gown and slippers, drawling over breakfast at noon, is a very decrepid, ghastly image of that youth who sees the sun blush over the mountains, and the dew sparkle upon blooming hedgerows.

A kind ward, a gentle act, cheerful smile, what sunshino they bring with them especially to the sorrowing heart. How much by these we may add to the sum of human happiness, and to the pleasent memories of those who meet us in life's journey. It is these little kindnesses, these gentle offices of courtesy and affection that make up half ihe real blessedness of life, and they cost so little! They nsk so small a portion of our time and labor so little sacrifice of our convenience or comfort. 7

RE.\RBE.?T OF DR. GAitDNER.-Thc cfTortR on the part of the United States District Attorney having brought to Washington, in connection with tho recent charges ngninst Dr. George A. are reports from

Constantinople that Mr. Rothschild ha* bought Syria for 500,000,000 francs, and intends to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple of Solomon, and invite the Israelites to return, and will set up a line of steamers from Beyrout to Mar seilles, and a railway from Alexandria to Constantinople. These reports ma) bttruc, but they need confirmation.

A young lady who wore spectacles, exclaimed in a voice of sentimental enthusiasm, to a plowman, •'Do you. sir, appreciate the beauty rH this landscape? Oh, tee those darling sheep and lambs skipping about!'* ••Them ere aren't sheep and lambs: them's hogs, Miss!"

Can the reader believe, after reading the description ol ihe above numerous cures, that there is still a few human elngs, suffering with disease, that refuse to give Bull's Snrsaparilla a trial. It is indeed hard to believe, but nevsrtheless, it is too true. What kind of testimony would it ake to convince the few remaining disbelievers, that Bull's nedicine will do more even than it promises? The doctor ould produce another and another cure performed by his nedicine but if the cases published above will not conthc sceptical, it is useless to produce *ny more, and, ndeed. it would cost a fortune to publish tbe many certiicates that have been showered on Dr. liuli. The largest liammoth sheet in America would not contain even the lames of those cured, let alone full statements of their jases-

I, Thomaa A. Rlngo, of flravea Co., Ky., for the benefit manfctad generally, do hereby certify, that on or about the lflth day of October, 1847, I was atttu ked with a Tery »vere pain in the lower pert of the abdouwn, which laxted out a lew mitiutes, and moved into the left hip, and continued exceedingly painful for about, five days, during which time I had a very light fever. At. the end of that 'ime tho fever ceaaed, and the pain abated for a day or two, ifter which it again returned, and wim much worm than oefore. During all this time I waa under medical treatment. From a 8bort time after I wa* taken, 1 wiw unable

walk or sit up the hip in which tho pain waa so bad sommenced rising, until some time in Jnuuar.7, when it ourst, and a number of pieces of bone come oa:—as many twenty, at least. Some of tbe pieces wen three-fourths }f an inch long. Some time after this, a hard knot appeared on my right hip, also one on my right wrist, and sne on my leg, below my knee. I continued to get weak tnd worse, and pain made i'a a#f*«,rance in my right shoulder, and would move In my breast and stomach. At this time all persons gave me up to die. A physician then told mo that, as a last remedy

hud better use Mil.

BULL'S FLUID EXTRACT OF SAHSAPARILLA. After the use of the seeond bottle, the knot on my wrist commenced getting soft. I opened it, and a day or two after. ?iece of bono came out. My wrist soon got well, and 1 continued to gain strength. After I used the third battle, I could get no more for some four weeks, after which time I succeeded in getting three more bottles. After using the three last bottlea, the knot on my hip became soft it was opened, and some corruption ran out, together with a »mall piece of bone, and the sore soon got well, and the Knot entirely diappeared. The sore on my leg also opened, tnd apiece of bone came out. I continued tbe use of the Sarsapanua until uaea twelve notticx, ana am now entirely well, and able to do daily labor. It may seem strange to aome, but I will here state that, during the lummor of 1849,1 coughed up three pieces of bone, which 3n.n now be seen at the residence of my uncle. Thos. Neal, where I now live, and if any persons doubt this statement, I will be happy to converse with them, if they will call on 0. Signed, TIIOMAS N. IUNGO.
