HOUSE.— The joint resolution of the Senate, authorizing the Postmaster Gen eral a his discretion, to declare plank roads post-routes, was passed.

Among the executive communications, before the House was one giving an estimate of the Department for the survey of a route from the Mississippi to the pacific ocean and recommending an appropriation for the same at once, which was referred.
