The price by the *Law line are lower than by the others. because these steamers do not go direct. jfe Cabin Passengers are allowed eight |8nd steerage passenger* sjx cubic feet of baggage, without charge. Freight is taken to some extent at 70 cts. per foot, but the difficulty in getting it across the
Isthmus is very great. 'JTtye is about 25 cents per lb. The passage across is made in two or three days, at a cost of about $25, by the steamer Orus or by canoes to Gorgona or Cruces, and thence on foot, or by mules and horses to Panama, at which placo the "Tribune" says by hiring a room a person can live for about $4 or five dollars per week by boarding at a restaurant. On the Pacific the following steamers arc running, and the ballatice are to be there soon. The Orogon, Panama, California, Tennessee, Unicorn, and Carolina of Howland & Aspinwall's line, Sarah Sands and New Orleans, of Howard & Sons' line, Columbus and Isthmus, of M. D. ment of health, without which life itself is hut a partial Messing. So sreat, Indeed, has their efficacy invariably and infallibly proved, that it has appeared scarcely less than miraculous to thnee who were acquainted with the beautifully philosophical principle* upou which they are compounded, and upon which they eonsecfuently act It was to their manifest and sensible action in purifying the springs and channels of life, and enduing ijidin with renewed tone and vigor, that they were indebted for their name. 'Unlike the host of pernicious quackeries which V»ast of vegetable injjirdlents, the LIFE MSDI" QJJfgg are pnrely and solely vegetable and contain neither Mercury, nor Antimony, »°r Artwn^C nor any other mineral, in any form whatever. They are entirely composed of extracts from rare Snd powerful plants, thA-virtues of which, though long kaown to several Indian tribes, and recently to some eminent pharmaceutical chemists, are altogether unknown to the ignorant pretenders to medical science and were never before administered in happily efficacious a combination.
The first operation is to loosen from the coats of the stomach and bowela the various impurities and erudition constantly wttlinf wnno thwtt and to remove the hardened feces which collect in the convolutions of the small intestines. Other medic'aes only partially cleanse these, and loave such collected masses behind to produce habitual Coetiveness, with all its train of evils, or sudden Diarrhrea with its imminent dangers. This fact is well-known to all regular anatomists who examine the human'bowels after death and hence the prejudice of these well-informed men against the quack medicines of the age. The wnmd effect of the VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICUfES «s to cleanse tlie kidneys and the bladder and, bv this means, the liver nnd lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon ftie regularity of the urinary orphans. The Wood, which takes its red color fh»m the agency of the liver and lungs, before it passes into the heart, being thus purified by them, and nourished by food coming from a clean stomach, course* freely through the veins, renews every part of the system, and triumphantly mounts the banner of health in the blooming cheek.) a|
The following are among the distressing variety of humnn diseases in which the VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICINES are well known to he infallible.

FILES. As a remedy for this most djptreswng and obstinate malady, the VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICINES deserve a distinct and emphatic reoommendation. It is well-known to hundreds in this city, that the former proprietor of these valuable Medicines was himself afflicted with this compaint for upwards of THIRTV-FIVK YEARS and that he tried in vain every remedy prescribed within the whole compass of the Materia Medina He however at length tried the Medicine which is now offered to the public, and he was cured ir a very short tim?, after his recovery had been pronounced not only improbable, but absolutely impossible, by any human means.
FEVER AND AGUE.
For this scourge of tlie western country these Medicines will be found a safe, speedy, and certain remedy. Other medicines leave the system subject to a return of the disease—a cure by these piedicines is permanent—TRY THEM, BE SATISFIED, AND BE CURED.
