Gold Dollar.
It has
at last! Adams SL CO,
brought on the 9th from Philadelphia several of tha glittering diminutive gold 'drops, and through tnis source we are indebted for a sight of it. Jn it iamtaewbat larger than* Tuscan auattrino. sixth oTt edit.) which von ftever find again
sue (one sixth oTi eeiit.) which yw» ftever find again after you drop it into voar pocket, but it is considerably smaller than halt-dime,hvretofore the smallest of ail American coinage. The «li«s are exquisitely cut, which accounts for the length of time in preparing tbem. The gold dollar is undoubtedly the neatest, tiniest, lightest coin in this country, if not—value considered—in any other. ,There is no "hard money" feeling about it. It is too delicate-and beautiful to pay out for potatoes, andsourkrout. and salt pork. Oberen might have paid Puck with it for bringing the blossom which bewitohed Titania. Ladiest might wear one pen a ban'
ritohed Titania. Ledi dant from each ear, or a number of them as deaux, like the women of the Greek, Archipelago. Tbe only objection that they could have woald be that rival belles could tell tbe exact value of their porta*. The principal convenience of tbe gold dollar consists in its adaptation for making wnall remittances by letter. In this rcspect it will no doubt have a wide circulation. Its appearance strengthens our original notion that the Uttle dollar will be a great favorite. In spite ot* tbe poets, we sll have a weakness for ttie "shining dross," while very few are able to indulge it otherwise than Homeopathically. The Gold Dollar, therefore, meets a universal want, and will be generally welcome. Wherefore, gentlemen of the Mint! be pleased to "shell out!"—N. Y. Tribune.
case of some interest to the trading community was recently decidcd in the Washington Co. (Md.) court, which we find briefly reported in the Jiagarstown News. It appeared that a man named 1 iorine bought 2000 burnetii of corn and 400 bar rcls of flour irom person named Long, which the latter subsequently refused to deliver according to contrsct, alleging that lie had been imposed upon by the former. It was asserted that tbe plaintiff was in possession of news relative to the market for breadstuff's, and that he had asserted a falsehood to I/Otie with reference to the news in his possession, and thus lulled his suspicions or induced him to forego further inquiry as to the state of the market. The judge charged the jury that if this were the case, it was a fraud which vtHated the contract and therefore prevented his re-
a brief absence the jury returned a verefendnnt. The News says: has at least settled two points the buying and selling of proFirtl rn(Lpiirchaaer may be in possession news ot a n^in prices, and tbe seller may he ignorant thereof. any contract entered into between them, withou? any misrepresentation being made to the seller by the purchaser, is a valid contract and binding in every respect. Thus, if the seller ssks no questions the buyer in not bound to impart to him his superior information—and the contract thus made between them is a gxd one. with a view to draw the other into a contract averse to his interests, is a fraud which will vitiate the contract and render it of non-effect for the law defines fraud as being the concealment or misrepresentation of a material fact, by which a party is lulled into a false confidence or induced to torego inquiry necessary to the protection of hi! interests. From this it is not, however, to be inferred that the purchaser, even when questioned, is hound to communicate his information to the seller. He is only required not to conceal the fact of his being "posted," and not to misrepresent or Lw guilty o! falsehood with reference to the information lie has in his possession. With this information we think our readers will hereafter know the ground upon which they stand when entering mo contracts of this character.

alleviated by an external remedy Its superiority I aboveall other liniments ii proven byjthe miraculous cures if performs, and by the great and constantly increasing demand there is for this valuable Ara- i«.?j bian Preparation. The Arabs, from their wandering mode of lite, are often afflicted with distressing diseases, and also subject-to accidents of the most i-~ severe kind consequently they wonld require an
external application of great virtue to effbet a cure This alone must render a skillful compound of healing properties a matter of vital importance to themselves and the well known care and attention they bestow upon their horsns, so noted for beautv and speed, must also greatly increase their desire I to possess a really valuable Liniment.
Iti8 well kndwn that the Arabians arc zealous students of botany, and the fertile and beautiful region which skirts the Desert abounds with rare plants and odorous woods, whence they procure those gums and fragrant balsams of which this incomparable liniment is comprised. It hasaccomplished the moat extraordinary cures of rheumatism. one application removing the must acute pain, and a continued ti«e eflkcting cures of eases of long standing and of the greatest severity. Iri loss of power of the lim!s, or paralysis, it stands at tbe bead ot all remedies, restoring the use of limbs to persons, who long were a burden to themselves and all others—numerous cases of which wherein the flesh had entirely wasted away, leav- .* ing nothing but the dry skin on the bone and the
limb rendered useless and without feeling, this alN IMwerfu! medicine caused healthy flesTitogrow and hi 1 up the shrivelled par.t, and restored strength to the limb. It is a spe, ific i„ atfoctions oftlio spine, many cases of three years' standing having been entirely cured by the use of it. Wo say try tt, and prove to your own satisfaction the rare qualities it possesses. It is unequalled for sprains, bruises, cramps, cuts, all swellirigs, salt rheum, froaen limbs, burns, tumors, pains of all kinds, aore eyes, &c. &c. and is superior to all other remedies lor horse Hesh in almost all cases which require an external application. For sweeney it has no equal also, spavin, splint, galls, wounds, sprainsT scratches, sore eyes, swellings, bruises, Stc. &c. also, fistula,pdle-eviI, big-head and riiic bone.

Beware of imposition, nnd get the genuine article, which ia prepared ONI.Y by H. G. Farrcll, I'e oria, Ills., and for sale by' regtflarly appointed agents. The genuine has the signature of H. G. arreil on the outside wrapper of each bottle, without wluch do not touch it. [Read the following certificate.]
Mr. H. G. FARRKLL Dear Sir—Having in my lifetime owned many horsw, I am pretty well acquainted with the uiseaj=es they are subject to, as well as the remedies usually ippli«d, and must say that I never used or heard ot any medicine that, was half'sogood as your Linimuiit. I would recommend it with thegrentostconfidence to all who have horses. They should always have it on hand, so that it could be applied imnmliately in case of accidcnt, and thereby save the life of many a valuable horse I have used it iu the very worst cased of s^weeney with entire Success alsosplint, sprninp, bruises, galls, wounds, sore eyes, &c. Two most extraordinary cures I must mention iu particular. I got up very early one morning, and on looking into my pasture discovered my favorite horse limp ing and dragging a rail after him. On going up close to him, to my amazement and horror, tliei rail was sticking in his stomach, between the Hanks, to the depth of eight inches, ami so tightly that it took three hard pulls to extricate it after which the poor animal suffered tho utmost agony. I never dreamed ol his recovery, and supposed that no human hand could save him. The well known virtues of your Liniment flashed on my mind, and it was immediately applied. By the next day I had tho gratification of witnessing the commencement of his recovery, and in six days thereafter I rode him to Peoria, as sound as ever^ and would riot tjiko $150 for him now. The. other case was this. One of mv men pot his leg in the teeth of a thrashing machine, nnd it was only by a miracle that be was not instantly killed. His leg was horribly mutilated, though no bones were broken. Your Llninfent was applfod, and iri five days he went tdwork rtgaiit. He fully believes that but for your Liniment he would never have recovered. With every wish for tho succeed of the Arabian Liniment, am truly yours,
HENRYS. AIKEN.
Aiken's mills, near Peoria, March 1, 1817. [Read the following extraordinary cure ot a spinal afTection ami loss of use of the limbs.]
Mr. H. G. FARHKLL: Please send mo by the bearer another dollar bottle Of your Arabian Liniment, which will be eridugh, I think, to complete ly cure my dear child. I have often thought that 1 would sit down and furnish you with an account of my poor child's situation, so that you might make it public, and thus be the cause of as much benefit to some others of my fellow beinizsasil has been to me. She laid for six months without the slightest power dr control of her limbs whatever, and suffered the most agonising pain th6 greater portion of the time. Even her neck was perfectly stiff, and so painful that she could not bear to nave her head moved in the lea«t. Thus was she for six months, during all which timo we had to carry her about on a chair when she wished to change lier dlittic. We had three of the be*f physicians in tne whole courftry attending her but they could do her no good. Finally, one of them (tne last to give her up) said he could do no niore for her. and thnt, as I wished to get your Liniment, I could do so, adding that lie knew it was good, arid might help her. I got it accordingly, and she began to recover nfter a few applications. She can now use al! of her limbs freely, and cart walk tolerably well. We are now applying it over the spine, which the doctors say is the seat of the disease, and we expect one bottle more to curd her as well a9 ever she was. We have used it alsi* for sprains, bruises* bums arid cuts, with like success. Hoping that thisgreat remedy will be spread over (he whole country. I am yours truly,
WILLIAM STEVENS.
