A new edition of this important Matrimonial Companion haa just been issued, under the editorial supervision of R. M. WEISSELHOFF, M. D., late of Paris, Professor of Midwifery, and author of the celebrated work on "Gestation and t/hild-birth," which has had such an extensive aale in Europe and America.

This edition is a vast improvement upon Mau riceau's old work, which waa chiefly designed to induce the reader to purchase M. M. Desomeaux'a Powders and Instrument, to prevent an undesired increase of family, at an expense of $10— and his Portugudle Female Pilla at $5 per box. In this edition there is no part of toe original French work withheld. The whole secret of M. M. Desomeaux'a instrument andmet'nod is fully revealed and described, and the recipe of Desomeaux'a Portuguese Female Pills is given entire in plain English terms, so that the purchaser will actually

After reading this edition, any one may avail himself of Desomeaux'a invention, at onee, without a dollar of expense, in any village in the United States. All the secrets of Mauriceau, Desomcaux and Geissner, are here fully revealed. There is no other edition worth purchasing.

JirSingle copics of the Married Woman's Private Medical Companion, will be sent by mai in a close envelope, to any part of the United Sta ea, for 50 cents, post paid, to Dr. R. M. WEISSE LHOFF, box 2T10, New York City, or THREE COPIES for ONE DOLLAR. No unpaid letters will be taken from the Post Office. NEW EDITION OF

Br. WeisselhoiPs Scientific Work ON THE SUBJECT OF

A uew and beautiful edition of this celebrated work, on the subject of GESTATION AND CHILD-BIRTH, by R. M. Weisselhoff, M. D., late of Paris, has just been issued in New York. It is a work which should be in the hands of every MAN and WOMAN who has incurred, or intends to incur, the responsibilities of the marriage state. It will be found of special value to those whose means, health or other circumstances, do not permit them to increase the number of their family, without great inconvenience, suffering, or perhaps risk of life. A method of avoiding these troubles and dangers at will, (recently discovered by a celebrated French Physician) is fully communicated in this work. The means of prevention cost comparatively nothing, and are within the reach of all. The process is new, safe, infallible, convenient, simple, and cannot injure the health of the most delicate. Nor does it curtail matrimonial privileges in the least.

KrThere is no deception or humbuggery of any kind about this work It is precisely what its title indicates, a scientific publication, containing information of great value to map-ied people, or those contemplating marriage, expressed in plain language which all can understand. The whole story is told, and the means of accomplishing the objects of the work fully and faithfully given, so that the reader may avail himself of it at once, without purchasing any medicine, instrument, or article, from the author. The means of protection, which it recommends, may also be relied upon, without fear of disappointment or injury. BEWARE OF FRAUDS ON THIS WORK. 0^*Bevvare of a catch penny fraud upon this work at 25 cents, which is only a decoy to promote the sale of Mauriceau's or Desomeau's instrument nt $10, for the same object that the work itself pretends to be written, the real secret of my original work being withheld. Those who wish for the original and genuine work by Dr. Weisselhoff, with private notes added by his own hand, can obtain it only by sending directly to him, as he employs no agents whatever, and never sells the work at wholesale—therefore no Book Agent, Pedlar, Postmaster or Bookseller can possibly furnish the genuine work. Beware, therefore, of false copies and imitations, which may not only be worthless but dangerous! All infringements of the copyright are promptly prosecuted and cheats will only sell abridged or altered copies. This is the only original and true work—no other can be gen uine. Thousands of copies have been sent by mail with perfect safety. {KrCopies of this work will b« sent, in a close envelope, at single letter pos^a**, to any part of United States for $1, sent post paid, to

IMPORTANT CAUTION-READ There is but one genuine preparation of Wild Cherrv, and that is Dr. Swavne's, the first ever offered lo the public, which haa been sold largely throughout the United States and some parts of Europe and all preparations called by the name of Wild Cherry have oeen put out since this under cover of some deceptive circumstances, in order to give currency to their sales. By a little observation no person need mistake the genuine from the false. Each bottle of the genuine is enveloped with a beautiful steel engraving, with the likeness ot William Penn thereon also Dr. Swayne's signature, and as a further security, the portrait of Dr. Swayuo will be added hereafter, so as to distinguish his preparation from all others. Now if it was not for tlie great curative properties and known virtues of Dr. Swayne's Compound Syrup of Wild Cherry, persons would not be endeavoring to give currency to their '-fictitious nostrums" by STKAttwo the name of Wild Cherry. Remember, always bear in mind the name of Dr. Swayne, and be not deceived.

JAMES G. HARDY, FORWARDING & COMMISSION

There Dever was a retnsdy

It strengthens the system, and appears to heal the ulcsrs 011 the lungs, creating new and rich blood other medicine. WONDERFUL CURE OF A METHODIST

MINISTER.

DR. SWAYNE—Dear Sir: I feel it a debt of gratitude due to you—and a duty to the afflicted gao* eraUy to offer my humble testimony in favor of j^our COMPOUNDS YRUPOF WILD CHIiRRY, Some three years since, I was violently attacked with cold and Inflammation of the Lungs, which was accompanied with a very distressing cough, painin the breast and head, a very considerable discharge of offensive mucus from the lungs, ospecmlly upon changes of weather, however slight.— At first I felt no alarm about my condition, but was pretty soon convinced that I was rapidly gemg into cousumption. I grew daily weaker, -and at length was scarcely able to walk about, or speak above a whisper, such was the exceeding weakness of my lungs. During this time I haa tried various preparations and prescriptions, but found no relief—growing all the time worse. Just

advised and persuaded by a dear friend

"J "V^Imington to make a trial of your iSyrup of Wild Cherry. I must confess that previously I had been prejudiced against patent medicines, and I am still against those coming out of the hands of empirics, but understanding your claims to tka profession and practice of mcdicine, and hav ing implicit faith in the sayings of my friends, I forthwith purchased of Dr. Shaw, one of your

a

bottles and commenced its uat.

My disease was at that time of 20 or 25 month's standing, consequently it was deeply seated. 1 found, however, considerable relict from ths use of the first four or five bottles. But being a publia speaker, I frequently attempted to preach with my increasing strength, and thereby ruptured thosovessels that nad already begun to heal in thisway, doubtless, my cure was greatly retarded In consequence of acting thus imprudently, I had to use twelve or fifteen bottles before I was perfectly restored. I have no Question, a much smaller number 01 bottles would have made me sound, but for the above indiscretion. The Syrup allayed ths feverish habit, took away the distressing cough put a stop to the discharge of matter from the lungs, and gave them and the entire system good health. I have deferred offering this certificate until now, for the purpose of being perfectly satisfied with the permanency of the cure, and now that I feel perfectly well Ioffer it with pleasure. u- xr „RE*-
