Only 50 cents per copy.—3 copies Ibr ti. THE SECRET OF M. M. DESOMEAUX'S INSTRUMENT FULLY REVEALED!

A twsw edition of this important Matrimonial Companion has just been issued, under the editorial supervision of R. M. WEISSELHOFF, M. D., late of Paris, Professor of Midwifery, and authorof the celebrated work on "Gestation and I Mid-birth," which has had such an extensive sale in Europe and America.

This edition is a vast improvement upon Mauriceau1# old work, which was chiefly designed to induce the reader to purchase M. M. Desomeaux's Powders and Instrument, to prevent an undesired increase of family, at an expense of §10—and his Portuguese Female Pills at $5 per box. In this edition there is no part of the original French work withheld. The whole secret of M. M. Desomeaux's instrument andmethod is fully revealed and described, and the recipe of Desomeaux's Portuguese Female Pills is given entire in plain English terms, so that the purchaser will actually

All the secrets of MaunCeau, Desomcaux and Geissner, are here fully revealed. There is no other edition worth purchasing.

NEW EDITION OF

Dr. Weisselhoff's Scientific \ork ON THE SUBJECT OF

A uew and beautiful edition of this celebrated work, on the subject of GESTATION AND CHILD-BIRTH, by R. M. Weisselhoff, M. D., late of Paris, has just been issued in New York. It is a work which should be in the hands ot every MAN and WOMAN who has incurred.or intends to incur, the responsibilities of the marriage state. It will be found of special value to those whose moans, health or other circumstances, do not permit them to increase the number of their family, without great inconvenience, suffering, or perhaps risk of life. A method of avoiding these troubles and dangers at will, (recently discovered by a celebrated French Physician) is fully communicated in this work. The means of prevention cost comparatively nothing, and are within the reach of all. The process is new, safe, infallible, convenient? simple, and cannot injure the health of the most delicate. Nor does it curtail matrimonial privileges in the least. {WThere is no deception or humbuggery of any kind about this work. It is-precisely what its title indicates, a scientific publication, containing information of great value to married people, or those contemplating marriage, expressed in plain language which all can understand. I'he whole story is told, and the means of accomplishing the objects .of the work fully and faithlully given, so that the reader may avail himself of it at once, without purchasing any medicine, instrument, or article, from the author. The means ot protection, which it recommends, may also be relied upon, without fear of disappointment or injury. BEWARE OF FRAUDS ON THIS WORK.

Beware of a catch penny fraud upon this work at 23 cents, which is only a decoy to promote the sale of Mauriceau's or Desomeau's instrument at §10, for the same object that the work itself pretends to be written, the real secret of my original work being withheld. Those who wish for the original and genuine work by Dr. Weisselhoff, with private notes added by his own hand, can obtain it only by sending directly to him, as he employs no agents whatever, and never sells the work at wholesale—therefore no Book Agent, Peillar, Postmaster or Bookseller can possibly furnish the genuine work. Beware, therefore, of false copies and imitations, which may not only be wortfdess but dangerous! AH infringements of the copyright are promptly prosecuted and cheats will omy sell abridged or altered copies. This is the only original and true work—no other can be genuine. Thousands of copies hayaJjeen sent by mail with perfect safety.

JKrCopiesof this work will be sent, in a close envelope, at single letter postage, to any part of United States for $1, sent postjpnid..to

IMPORTANT CAUTION—READ !. There is but one genuine preparation of Wild Cherry, and that is Dr. Swavne's, the first ever offered to the public, which has been sold largely throughout tlie United States and some parts of Europe and all preparations called by the name of Wild Cherry have been put out since this under cover of some deceptive circumstances, in order to give currency to their sales. By a little observation no person need mistake the genuine from the false. Each bottle of the genuine is enveloped with a beautiful steel engraving, with the likeness ot William Penn thereon also Dr. Swavne's signature, and as a further security, the portrait ol Dr. Swnvne will be added hereafter, so as to distinguish his preparation from all others. Now if it was not for the great curative properties and known virtues of Dr. Swayne's Compound Syrup of Wild Cherry, persons would not be endeavoring togivc currency to their fictitious nostrums" by STKAUXO the name of Wild «Vrry. Remember, always bear in mind the name of Dr. Swayne, and be not deceived.

DR7SWAYNE'S COMPOUND SYRUP of WILDCHERRV

THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY MEDICINE IN THE WORLD.

CONSUMPTION

Coughs, Colds, Asthma, Bronchitis, Liver Complaint, Spitting Blood, Difficulty of Breathing, Pain in the Side and Breast, Palpitation of the Heart, Influenza, Croup, Broken

Constitution, Sore Throat, Nervous Debility, and all diseases of the Throat,

Breast and Lungs the most effectual and speedy cure ever ,.f? known for any of the above diseases

I)R. SWAYNE'S COMPOUND SYRUP OF WILD CIIERRV.

Iffrad tlie Cerfilicalc. Still another cure of Pulmonary Consumption.—There never was

a

remedy

that has been so successful in desperate caces ol Consumption as DR. SWAYNE'S COMPOUND SYRUP OF WILD CHERRY. It strengthens the system, and appears to heal the ulcers ou the lungs, creating new and rich blood a power possessed by no other medicine. WONDERFUL CURE OF A METHODIST

MINISTER.

DR. SWAYNE—Dear Sir: I feel it debt of gratitude due to you—and a duty to the afflicted generally to offer my humble testimony in, favor of your COMPOUND SYRUP OF WIL'D CHERRY. Some three years since, I was violently attacked with cold and Inflammation of the Lungs, which was accompanied with a very distressing cough, pain in the breast and head, a verv considerable discharge of offensive mucus from the lungs, especially upon changes of weather, however slight.— At first I felt no alarm about my condition, but was pretty soon convinced that I was rapidly going into consumption. I grew daily weaker, and at length was scarcely able to walk about, or speak above a whisper, such was the exceeding weakness of my lungs. During this time I had tried varioua preparations and prescriptions, but found no relief—growing all the time worse. Just here I was advised and persuaded by a dear friend in Wilmington to make a trial of your yruo of ilv I

Wild Cherry. I must confess that previously had been prejudiced against patent medicines, and I am still against those coming out of the hands of empirics, but understanding your claims to th« profession and practice of medicine, and hav ing implicit fnith in the sayings of my friends, forthwith purchased of Dr. Shaw, one of your agents, a few bottles and commenced its use.

My disease was at that time of 20 or 23 month's standing, consequently it was deeply seated. 1 found, however, considerable relief from the uso of the first four or five bottles. But being a public speaker, I frequently attempted to preach v.ith my increasing strength, and tfiereby ruptured those vessels that had already begun to heal in this way, doubtless, my cure was greatly retarded In consequence of acting thus imprudently,! had to use twelve or fifteen bottles before I was perfectly restored. I have no ouestion, a much smaller number of bottles woula have made me Bound, but for the above indiscretion. The Syrup allayed the feverish habit, took awity the distressing cough, put astopto the discharge of matter from tne lungs, and gave them and the entire system good health.. I have deferred offering this certificate until now, for the purpose of being perfectly satisfied with the permanency of the cure, and now that I feel perfectly well I offer it with pleasure.
