RRIVAL OFTILK HI BERN! A.
Royal Mail Steamer Ilibernia arrived ton on the 3d lost, from Liverpool with Londti dates to the 18ih, nnd Liverpool to the 10th of September.
There has been a reaction in the Corn market, and a considerable advance was realized for Flour and Wheat about the middle of the month, caused by a largely increased .demand both for foreign and home consumption.
The continued heavy failures in the Corn trade, sufficiently accounts for the farther depression of the Corn market during the first week the present month, and on the Gih ult. prices still continued to recede, but towards the close of the second week both Wheat and Flour wero in active demnnd, and this im provement was maintained on the 13ih, when Wheat advanced 5s, per quarter as the quo tations of the Gth, and Flour, for which there was an immense demand in London and Liverpool, advanced 3 to 4*. per brl. The top quotations for the better description of Wheat was C2«. per quarter in Liverpool. Best Western Canal Flour, which on the 5th was dull at 25i, was selling on the 14th at 28 to 80a per brl.
Indian Corn had nUo bnen in great demand at higher rales, and the Corn market a: the latest moment appeared firm but as large supplies were still expected from abroad, and as the English harvest was admitted to be an abundant yield, it was very doubtful whether fluctuations would not take place, before prices reached their natural levrl. Considerable purchases had been made in London and Liverpool for Betgium and Holland, in consequence of the diseased state of the Potato crop in theso countries, and these purchases leaded greatly to strengthen tho market.
The state of Commercial affairs and of the Corn market especially, render it a mnttcr of •gren difficulty to form a correct judgment «f the future courso of prices at Murk [vine.
At the markets held on the 15th and 17th, Jlrcadirtufii were a little higher. The supply „f Wheat was limited. Flour was quoted at Liverpool on the 18ih, 28*. 61 to30s., and at London on the 17th, at 29*. 9J.
GENERAL INTELLIGENCE. At Paris on the 3d, the Sardinian Ambassador, resident at the French Court, presented at thel-oreign Office a diplomatic nolo Irom his government, of which the following is the substance:—"In case Mis Holiness, Pope Pius IX should claim armed assistance of Uis Mnjrsty, the King of Sardinia, ngiinst Austrian invasion, Mis Sardinian M»j«*sty will consider himself bound not to refuse the Sovereign Pontiff*that assistance it bt:ing his duty, as an Italian Power, to causo the Independoncoof all the States of the Peninsula to be re»peoted, ai guarantied by the treaties of Vienna."
NO PAUTY MP*.
There is-a very commends ble amount ofgood sense in U»e following paragraph Irom the Connecticut Coarant: "No pastS" men are usually found in one or two olosse#—those who are destitute of public spirit, and those who have been per* sonally disappointed in somo dealings vuth one or more parties. The first class are th« er engaged in pursuits which they think of moro consequence than good government, or they have that sort of indolent faith which assumes that alt will go on well because there is no pressing evil that now crosses their individual paths. Henco while they are enjnying the good government which political watchfulness -secures, they despise the very agency by which ih^y are enabled to indulge their contempt potcifully. Tha second class is a numerous one. Tho loss of an office, the success of a rival, the failure of a favor ite schema, soon open their eyes to a sense of the hollownest of partv. Henceforth they are pure patrfots, privileged to rail upon the rest of the wortd, and pronounce nil men either decoivere or deceived. In short, no partyism is alwavs tho growth either ofa mis. taken estimate of things, or of laxy selfishness or disappointed expectations. A reasonable, sensible, unselfish, modest man seldom falls into it. He may be more or less active on political subjects, but he will have some opin Ion on them, and act at proper seasons wi'h firmness.
There are already 2350 mile* of telegraph wires in operation in the UniteolStates—about 700 of which are in a continuous line from Philadelphia to Cincinnati. In the course of a few months there will be 1000 more, chiefly to the south and southwest. There will then be one uninterrupted line of upwards of 3000 miles it* length of instantaneous communication between tbe Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

IMPORTANT TO PARENTS!
WINER'S
CANADIAN VERMIFUGE,
A CERTAIN REMEDY FOR WORMS. THIS medicine is safe in its operation and more easily administered than any other.
The greatest cause ol death among children is to be sttributed to Worms. They give rise to numerousdiseases, and are the more fatal becauae the leaat suspected: were parents to give this subject more attention, and carefully observe the symptoms which indicate the exiaienceof worma in the bowela, the lives of many chitdren would no doubt be toned. Some of the aymptoma are as follows the countensnce is of a pale, or a leaden color, and suffused with occasional flushes, the eves are heavy and dull, bad breath, itching in the nostrils, the sleep is disturbed, the patient often awakening in great fright, and ia liable to starting and grinding the teeth, the appetite is irregular, being sometimes voracious and at other times feeble, occasional vomiting, &c.
Winer's Cannetian Vermifuge has acquired a reputation far exceeding that of any other medicine of ihe kind, and is daily increasing in popularity wherever it is known and used it is universally approved it possesses properties which no other article of the kind does, it ia more prompt and efficient in its aciion, and entirely free from engredienis which have any hut a beneficial effect, the health of the patient being alwars improved even when no Worms are discovered. Physicians prescribe it, and to use the language of one in high standing, who resides in Cleveland, Ohio, consider it "the only article of the kind he ever saw that was so uniform and prompt in expelling worms," it may indeed be relied on with the uimost confidence, as it has never been know to fail, this is the reason why all who have used it will not use any other.
We have in our possession a number of certificates from physicians and others of the highest respectability, who all testify to its superior efficacy and recommend it as a never failing reincdv.
READ AND BE CONVINCED.
We. the undersigned, have frequently administered a medicine prepared by Mr. John Winer of this town, designated "J. Winer's Canadian Vermifuge." and being fully satisfied with its efficacy, confidently recommend it as a safe and efficient remedy for the expulsion of worms from the intestinal canal.

Hamilton, C. W., Oct. II. 1846. NEW YORK, March 30, 1847 Messrs J. Winer &. Co.,: Sirs—My child of five years of age, wos lor more than two years severely afflicted with worms, during which time we gave her different medicines recommended in such cases, but they produced no beneficial effects I at lengih procured a bottle of your Canadian Vermilnge, and gave it to her. which caused her to pass a large number of worms, since then she has been in the enjoyment of perfect health. From my own experience, I would recommend your Vermifuge as being the most safe and effectual remedv for worms now in use. Yours, truly,
