His anticipations have been most fully answered. by a discovery, in combining active ingredients, which in thecmnposition produce modified results, and increased efficiency ass medical Sgent sad although ita base is composed of highly sctive ingredients, its modifications are such, that it becomes, as a composition, perfectly mild ana adapted to the nse of the moat delicate subject.

From J.S. Wilcox, Machinwt.

To thx Public.—I have been afflicted with Hombfr* holds or Piles for more than IS years past, and tor a great part of the time severely afflicted with it. I have used almost every kind of medicine and application, and all without anv substantial benefit, until about three weeks since I commenced using Dr. E Humphreys' Vegetable Ointment. From the hour I commenced using it I have been getting better, and am at this time quite free from the complaint. I have the fullest confidence in its being a specific in such diseases.

Auburn, N.Y. Feb.20.1841. JokatitasS. Wilcox. Prom J. jr. Stmrin, Cashier Cayuga Co. Boat. To Dr. E. Humphreys*: SiA, -1 commenced tbe use of your Vegetable Ointment for th* Pilee, a few weeks aince, and have used it occasionally ever since, although under circumstances so unfavorable that I did not expect to be much benefitted by it. On the first application I fell immediate relief from the aoreness snd tenderness that usual Iv attenda the disesse, and think I am now almost, if not entirely well, and do most cheerfully recommend it to sll similarly aflected.

Auburn, N. Y. March 2,1841. J. N. Staxik. The Ointment is equally effieseious tn fissures of ths Amis ind Rectum, a malady of which the great French Surgeon, Baron Dapaytren, in his lectures on Clinical Saryery, says: "Tbe discovsry of a care for this disesse, withaut aa operation, woald be an invaluable benefit to mankind." The following from tha Rev. G. W, Montgomery, attests its eflkwy in that disease?

Dr. Humphreys1—Having but a few weeke past been afflicted with several small fissures on the lower psrt of the Rectum, which gave me intense paia for aeveral hoars each day, I made use of your Ointment for tha Isst two weeks: and it has not only ralieesd me. bat tbe fissures are healed, and I am cared. I gladly recommend the use of yosrOiatment to these afflicted to a similar manner. Respectfully yours,

tablished the important discovery that its care can ne* ver be dfee*ed arith precision and certainty, except by a psriodksl administration ol a proper remedy, in conneciion with the specific powers of one of the ingredients in his medicines, is the secret of his invariable triamph, while all other practitioners either entirely foil or only temporarily succeed, were with the very best remedies that wet* known. A net us, or Ague is either Qnotidian, or ds ily Tertian, or third-day: Quartan, or fourth-day Erratic, sr sometimes one or these periods and sometimes another or it is Complicated, by taking thsseperiods in sucoession, and then running into intermittent fever of a more malignant character. Bat it is a retnsrkable feet, however mysterions and unaccountable it may appear, that each and all of these species of Ague, have a fourteenth-day crisis, in which thev may he cared with certainty, but by tieclecting which they can only be cared by chance. Dr. Mof&t's directions for taking the medicines in this disesse, are therefore these:—First, take two of the Life Pills at bed time, and next morniM before breakfast a fuH wine glass of the Pbcsoix Bitten in about the samS qtnntity of water, and half a wine glass more in a full wiueglaaa af water, aboat half aa hoar before each meal during the day. On the second a:ght take three pills and the bitters aa before on the third night foar pills and tha hitters ss before, and continue taking four (alia every night for three nights mora, wiiB the bitters during thtf day. On or before the atventh day, the Aane wtllaeem to be entirely cared, and the patient will feel well, hungry, and hearty, but he must neverthelesa continue to take the bittern as before pre4 scribed, until and on the fourteenth day, with two pills every night sfter the seventh day. He will then, snd not until then, with positive and invariable certainty, be permaneatlv cored, not only of Fern and Ague but of whatever billions and liver auctions it may havo superinduced or even in sny wsy connected, lr, however, tbe patient abould by any neglect, or undue confidence in restored health, omit to take the Phoenix Bitters to the fall quantities prescribed, at least three times on the fourteenth dav, Dr. Moflat must not be blanied if tbe disease dioald return, acd the patient should learn wisoom from affliction, and go through Soother oourse of the medicines for a fortnight longer. Obeying these inStractiens, however., he will be so thoroughly cared, that he may hi* defiance to the disease, however unhealthy may be his location or prevalent tho malady around him. For children between seven and fourteen years of age, half of the above quantities of the medicines will suffice for younger* children, aquarter of those quantities, to be increased or diminished in proportion as the sge varies from advancsd childhood to infencv. For very young children, small quantum of the bitten oaly will alEos be necessary.

This treatment, witlrthese supremely efiectual "Life Medicines," has been perfectly triumphant in tho worst regions of the Sotithern and Western country, snd around the northern lakes, where the Mlady prevails with the univemslity of sn epidemic.^m the demand for this sovereign remedy has been far greater than the supply. Dr. Moffat's Agents, however, sre now well furnished, and will make every effort to send this advertisement into the most afflicted districts. Volnntary and Jealously grateful teetlmonihls are received at the proprietor's office in New York, by every mail in incredible numbers, to ths absolute efficacy of these astonishing medicines, not only in Fever and Ague, other intermitent fevers, liver and billions a flections, and derangements of ths digestive functions gsnerally, but also in chronic snd inflammatory rheumatism, costiveness, pains in the side snd limps, eruptions of tha skitr, scroftils, piles, worms, seorvt, and a host of othercom* plaints, for tha core of which, these Vsyetable Life Medicines are so pre-eminently renowned throughout the United States. Knowing, however that many of these diseaflsa, aa well as a moat fatal undermining af ths general health are occasioned by Fever and Ague.
