The following is an extract from an article in that paper on 'Morbus LarynguesC.»ncionaiorum,'or Bronchitis. by Frank H. Hamilton, Prof, of Materia Medic* and General Pathology in Geneva Medical College.
The Rev. I. Covrrt's mixture, also now used s» extensively for this afSi^on by clergymen, belongs to the same class of stimulating expectorants being one of thoee lucky combinations of medical agents which* while it promotes expectoration, docs not impair the tone ot the stomsch. Of this medicine we feel at liberty to speak, since its composition is not held from the Profession, and we hope the proprietors will soon see fit to give il tcfthe public. We, therefore, venture to recommend it, having employed it in ourown case, and in tlie cases of manv others, with decided benefit."
From tie Rev. D. Moore.—In 1825 njf lungs became seriously diseased, and continued so for nearly fourteen years, and about six vears since I was attacked with a Chronic Bronchitis which occasioned me much pa*n sad distress attended by difficult breathing and pains in various parts of the chest. Ia March last I purchased* bottle of Rev. I. Covert's Balm of Life, aad the effect has been, that my braatbiiyr is about as frte as before I was taken, my Chronic Bronchitis is nearly if not altogether cured, and the pains of the chest have siubstded% I have great confidence in the Balm of L»f*. aad think it a good and safe medicine.
Aanlios, N. V. Aag.Sl, 1839. DAVID MOORE. From tfe Rev. IL Bsnmister, A. B. Teocktrqf Languages in ike Cotenmin Seminary.
This certifies that I hay* successfully used the Rev. Coven's Balm of Life. Ia the case of an obatinate cold, srfcich reioHed in a settled iaAammaiios of the lungs, the Bala, of Life, after the trial of sevacal other medicines for several weeks, effected a gradual bat pttMMMiit rare. H. BANNISTER.

THE COUNTERFEITER'S DEATH BLOW rpHK public will please to observe that no Brandeth's Fills are genuine unless the box" has thtee labela upon it. each contaiflinr a fac simile «ignature of my hand writing, thus, B. Brandreth, These labels are enetnved on steel, beautifully ctesigned, and done at an expense of several thousand dollars.
The Brandreth-Pills.
The remarkable cure* which have been effected by Bt'andreth's Pills, have astonished the whole medical faculty, many of whom have conceded that they are the greatest blessing that e^er WHS given to the world.
The reason these celebrated Pills have such a nniver*aUv rood effect, is. because their action harmonices with the human body.
When a dose of Brandreth's Pills are taken, (hev are digested, and pass to every part of the system but they le«ve the body when ihev have effected the intended purpose, and health and vigor nre by them insured. "Mineral medicines may enter the system, hut they are with difficulty got out again ard they alwars occasion pain and miserv while thev remain in the body.
Whereas Brandreth's Pills are as innocent as apiece of bread, and are evacuated with the disease for which they are taken.
From the time we mire bofh to the tihw we cease to breathe. Our bodies are constantly wasting, and as constantly building up. Theartion of :he atmosphere wears or Wastes them. The food we eat the digestive organ* concert ihto blood, whiehrenews or builds up br lis circulating power. Thus the human body is healthy when the blood circulates freely. and when anything prevents its free course through the vains, disease commences.

But to ensure invariable auccess, these must be rigidly followed.
Fever and Ague, in all its four leading species, is a pei iiliar periodical disease, and Dr*Mofl%t hMfolly e»tabliehed the important discovery that its cure can never be effec»cd with precision and certainty, except by a periodical administration of a proper remedy, in connection with the specific powers of one of the incr.-di-ents tn hurmedicines, ia the secret of his invariable triumph, wlule all other practitioners either entirely fail or only temporarily succeed, were with the very best '"'•v remedies tliat weraknown. Dr Moffat's directionsfor taking the medicines in this disease ate therefore theset-First, take two of the Life Pills at bed time, and next morning before breakfast a lull wine glass of the Phtsnix Bitters in about the same quantity of water, and half a wine glass more in a full wineglass of water, about half an hour before each ht take three the third night

ing four pills every night for three nights more, with the bitters during the day. On or before the seventh day. the Airue will seem to be entirely cured, and the patient will feel well, hungry, and henrtv, but he must nevertheless continue to take the bitters as before prescribed. until and on the fourteenth day, wiih two pills every night after the seventh day. He will then, and not until then, with bositive and invariable certainty, be permanently cured, not only nf Fever and Ague but of whatever billions and liver affections it mnv hava superinduced or even in any way connected, it, however, the patient should by nny neglect, or undue confidence in restored health, omit to take the PhcBnix Bitters in the full qusntities prescribed, at least three times on the fourteenth day. Dr. Moffat must not bo blamed if the disease should return, ard the patient should learn wisdom from affliction, and go through anolher course of the medicines for a fortnight longer. Obeying these instructions, however, he will be so thoroughly cured, that lie may bid defi»nce to the disease, however unhealthy may bo hisior-niion or prevalent the malady around him. For children between seven and fourteen years of age. half of the above qnanlitiesof the medicines will suffice lor younger children, quarter of those quantities, to be increased or diminished in proportion as the age varies from advanced childhood to infancy. For very young children, small quantities of the bitters only will alene be necessary.
