The LIFE MEDICINES recomoieadjbemselves in disease?ofevery form and description. Their fitstoperationis to loosen from the coals of the stomach and bowels, the variousimpurities and cruditiesconstantly Settling around thetn and to remove the hardened fteCes which collect in the convolutions ofthesmallest intestines. Other.medicihes only partially cleanse these, andleavesuch collected masses behind as to produce habitual costiveness, with all its ttainofevils^or sudden diarrhoea, with its imminent dangers. This fact is well known to all regular anatomists, who examine the human bowels after death and hencatbe prejudice of of those welli nfornied men against quack medicines— or medicines prepared and heralded to the public by ignorant persons. The second effect of the Life Medicines is to cleanse the kidneys and the bladder, and by this means, the Jiver and the lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs. The blood, which takes its red color from the agency ofthe liver and the lungs befoie it passes into the heart, being thus purified by the 'oiand nourished by. food coming from a clean stomach, courses, freely through ihe veins, renews every part of the system, and liiumphantly mounts the banner ot health i*n the blooming cheek.

Moffat's Vegetable Life Medicines have been thoroughly tested, andpronounced a sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. Flatulency, Palpitation of the Heart, Loss -of Appetite, Heart«burn and Headache, Restlessness, Ill-teiupet, Anxiety, Langor and Melancholy .Costiveness «Diarrhoea, Cholera, Fevers of all kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Diopsies of ajl kinds, Gravel, Woims, Asthma and Consumption, Scuivy, Ulcers, Inveterate Sores, Scarbutic Eruptions and Bad Complexions, Kruptive complaints. Sallow, Cloudy, and other disagreeable Complexions, Salt Rheuui, Erysipelas, Common Colds and Influenta, and various other complaints which afflict the human frame In Fever and Ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been most ennuently successful so much so that in the Fever and Agile districts, Physicians almost universally prescribe them.

All that Mr. Moffat requires of his patients.is to be particulsr in taking the Life Medicines stiictly according to tbe directions, li is not by a newspaper notice, or by anything that be himself may say in their favor, that be hopes to gain credit. It is alone by (he results 'of a fair trial.

MOFFAT'S MEDICAL MANUAL, designed as a domestic guide to health. This little pamphlet, edited by W. B. Moffat, 375 Broadway, New York, has been published for the purpose of explaining more fully Mr. Moffat's theory oi diseases, and will be fpund highly interesting to persons seeking health. It treats upon prevalent diseases, arid the causes thereof. Price, 25 cents—far sale by Mr. Moffat's agents, generally.

These Valuable Medicines are lot sale by Oct. 24,1840-7-tf J. F. KING, Teire-Haute.

•J1EVER AND AGUE—TO MY FRIENDS IN .•? THE WEST, and particularly those who have used the 45£atme'Vy^' FKVEB inn AUVB.^H -/Ul *&.»* mvtr *:O

It is but a very ahort liniestncfe these' Medicines have been introduced into the l*evre and Ague Districts, and the proprietor flatters himself that during that period, wherever they have been used according to the directions, they have done more towards exterminating the disease than all other remedies and prescriptions combined. It is a common excuse among "regula practitioners" when specifics are introduced, that they cannot cure diseases which people are in the habit ot considering incurable. Medical experience is constinually doing away a part of the list of* the incurable dis. eases, and Mr. Moffat has the happiness of confi deotly announcing that TEVER AND AGUE is now to be added to the number of complaints which modern skill has conquered.

In Fever and Ague the LIPS WEDICIJIES not only give quicker relief than any other remedy, but if persevered in, effect a PERMASKBT CORK SO that the patient ia only ordinarily careful, and resorts dieeetly to bis medicine upon the 6rst symptom of tendency to anew attack, it may always be wardde off. To escape one chill would ibe of infinitely •tore consequence to the sufferer than the value ofthe remedy—to remove the disease permanently would confer a benefit upon him which cannot be estimated by any earthly standard. That these Medicines will effect what is here claimed for them, the Proprietor has the testimony of all acquainted with them and their application and use in the Fever and Ague and his 6bject in now addressing his friends at the West is to request thetn that they will spare no pains in communicating their experience, and disseminating this highly interesting information, now that the season for Fever and Ague has arrived.

It is not for the mere purpose of disposing* of a few hundred packages of the Life Medicines, that the proprietor makes this appeal. The demand for his Medicines is already greater than he can conveniently supply and even were it insufficient to afford him business, be would conceive himself supremely selfish, if his pleasure was not greater at the benefit conferred upon the suffering part of the community by an increase in his sales, than at. his own pecuniary pro6t.

Tire Life Medicines, if properly used and perse* Tiered in, recommend themselves still it is neces sary that tbe public should know thateucb medicines exist, snd hence the propriety of advertising them. It is hoped, therefore, tbst the proprietor will not be accused of egotism when be ssjs that there is no medicine or mode of treatment extant, for fever and ague, so appropriate, thorough and positive in its happy effects as MOFFAT'S LIFE PILL'S AND PHCENIX BITTERS.'

For futher particulars of the above nieJicirii: see Moffat*i Good Samaritan, a copy cf which accompaoies the medicine. A copy may also be obtained of the Agents who have the medicines for sale. 03»French, German, snd Spanish directionscarr be obtained on appltionat tbe office.375 Broadway.

OCT AH rosT paid letters will receive immediate attention. Sold wholesale and retail by WM. B. MOFFAT, 375 Broadway, N. Y. A liberal deduction made to those who purchase to sell spoik.

A#»m.—The life Medicines may also be had of the principal druggists in every town throughout the United States and the Canadas. Ask far Noffkfs Life Pills ind Phenix Bitters and be sure that a facsimile uf John Moffat's signature is upon he label of each bottle of hitters, or box of pills.
