Auicles of tbis kind may destroy worn.*, but they debilitate the stomach, and often materially injure |he general health, without removing the cause. Swaim'* Vermifuge hits the peculiar advantage of removing the cause of worms, by giving Vigor and healthy action to the stomach, bowels, and organs of digestion, thereby relieving measles, croup, hooping cough, &c. This medicine, by invigorating the internal fuiictions, streugthening the organs of digestion, and (emoving the primary cause which creates morbid secretions, will relieve Bowel Complaints, Cbolic. Dysentery, Dyspepsia, and the whole train of biliary affections. Sick Headarb, Acidity of the Stomach, Foul Breath, Bleeding Piles, &c. It is an antidote in the early stages of Feeer and Choiera Morbus. A* a general Family Medicine, it stands unrivalled, as it is applicable to most of the diseases to which children are subject. medicine* are indebted for then manifest and sensible action in purifying the springs and channels of life, and enduing them with rent wed tone and vigor. In many hundred certified ca*e which have been made publir, and in almost everv species of disease to which the human frame it liable, the happy effects cf MOFI-AT'S LIFE PILLS AND PHKiNIX BITTERS have been gratefully and publicly acfc nowledged by the persons benefitted, and who were previously unacquainted with the beautifully philosophical principles upon which they areconipounded ,and upon which they consequently act.
The LIFE MEDICINES recommend themselves in diseases ofevery form and description. Theirfirstoperation is to loosen from the coats of the stomach and bowels, the various impurities and crudities constantly settling around them and to remove the. hardened feces which collectin the convolutions ofthesmallcat intestines. Other rncdicioes only partially cleanse these,
I WEST, ypu have now be/or ami leave such collected masses behind as to produce 5STLY PETJER& VEGE• habitual costiveness, with nil its train of evil*,orsudUS FILLS—which have re-, den diarrhoea, with its imminent dangers. This fact is well known to all regulat anatomists, who examine the human bowels after death and hence the prejudice of of those well informed men against quack medicines— or medicines prepared and heralded to the public by ignorant persons. The second effect of the Life Medicines is to cleanse the kidneys and the bladder, and by this means, the liver and the lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs. The
blood,
which takes its red color
from the agency of the livernnd the lungs befoie it passes into the heart, being thus purified by therr, and nouiishtd by food coming from a clean stomach, courses, freely through ihe veins, renews every part of the system.and triumphantly aiounta the banner ol health In the blooming cheek.
Moffat's Vegetable Life Medicines have been thoroughly tested, and pronounced a sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. Flatulency, Palpitation of the Heart, Loss of Appetite, Heart-burn and Headache, Restlessness, Ill-tempei, Anxiety, Langor and Melancholy,'.'ostiveness, DiarrhiER, Cholera, Fevers of all kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Diopsies of all kinds, Gravel, Woims, Asthma and Consumption, Scurvy, Ulcers, Inveterate Sores, Scarbutir Eruptions and Bad Complexions, Eruptive complaints, Sallow, Cloudv, and other disagreeable Complexions, Salt Rheum, Erysipelas, Common Colds and Influenza, and various other complaints which afflict the human franiQ fn Fever and Ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been most eminently successful so much so that in the Fever and Ague districts, Physicians almost universally prescribe them.
All that Mr. Moffat requires of his patients is to be particul in taking the Life Medicines strictly according to the directions. It is not by a newspaper notice, or by anything that he himself may say in their favor, that he hopes to gain credit. It is alone by the results of a fair trial.

This vegetable production being of a peculiar kind, led to the experiments as to its medical qualities and virtues. In half a century it became an established medicine for the diseases of that country. The extract of this singular production was introduced into some parts of Europe in the year 1783, and used by many celebrated physicians in curing airtain diseases, which all other medteinee had been used in vain. Early in the year 1792. the extract was confined with a certain vegetable medicine imported from Dura Baa, in the East Indie?. and formed into pills.
The admirable effect of this compound upon the human system, led physician# ami families into its general use. Their long established character, their universal and beating virtues, their detergent and cleansing qualities of thtnr specifics! action upon the glandular part of the system, are audi as will sustain their reputation and genetal use in the American Republic.

have *tised tbe HF* MCDICISKS in treatment of
specifics are introduced, that the'y cannot cure
diseases which people are in the habit ol considering incurable. Medical experience i" constinuslly doing away a part of the list of the incurable diseases, and Mr. Moffat has the happiness of confidently announcing that FEVER AND AHUE is bow to be added to the number of* complaints which modern skill has conquered.
In Fever and Ague the LIFE KEDICIXSS not only give quicker relief than any other remedy, but if persevered in, effect a FKRMAXEKT CORE SO that the patient is only ordinarily careful, and resorts directly to his medisine upon the first symptom of tendency -to a hew attack, it may always be Wardde off. To escape one chill would ibe ot infinitely more consequence to the sufferer than the valse of the remeity—to remove the disease permanently would confer a benefit upon him which cannot be estimated by any earthly standard. That these Medicines will effect what is here claimed for them, the Proprietor has the testimony of all ae quainted with the® and their appl cation and use in the Fever and Ague and hi3 object in now addressing his friends at the West is to request them that they will spare no pains in communicat ug their experience, and .disseminating this highly interesting information, now that the season fo? Fever and Ague has arrived.
It is not for the mere purpose of disposing of a few hundred packages of the Life Medicines, that the proprietor makes this appeal. The demand for his Medicines is already greater than he can conveniently supply and even were it insufficient to afford him business, he would conceive himself supremely selfish, if his pleasure was not greater at the benefit conferred upon the suffering part of the community by an increase in his sales, than at his own pecuniary profit.
The Life Medicines, if properly used and persevered in, recommend themselves still it is neees sary that the public should know that such medicines exist, and hence the propriety of advertising them. I is hoped, therefore, that the proprietor will not be accused of egotism when he says that there is no medicine or mode of treatment extant, for fever and ague, so appropriate, thorough and positive in its happy effects as MOFFAT'S LIFE PILL'S AND PH(ENIX BITTERS.

This medicine has the singular fortune, a just tribute to its great merit, of being recommended by the most celebrated practitioners of medicine in the United States and Europe whereas, not one of the spurious mixtures made in imitation of it has the least support from the medical faculty. This fact offers an argument so plain and conclusive, that it needs only to be mentioned to enforce conviction. Swaim's Panacea is recommended to all those invalids for whom physicians prescribe Sarsapprilla Syrups, Extracts, &c.
Swaim's Panacea is in round bottles, fluted longitudinally, with thefollowinc words blown in the glass —"Swaim's Panacea —Philaaa.," having but one label, which covers the cork, with the signatnre of Wm. Swaim on it, so that the cork, (bearing also upon it as a seal the impression, "Win. Swaim,") cannot be drawn without destroying the signature without which none is genuine. Recipe, obtained of an old Jew by a traveller in the Eastern countries, bids fair to be of immense value to the Western world. Since this Plaster hasbeen inttoduced into America, every other plaster, salve, ointment or linament has been discontinued by all who have had an oppon unity of testing the superior medical virtues of the Jew David's or Hebrew Plaster. Truth, though simple, is powerful, and will prevail with an enligntenea community, over all the puffings and ficticious affidavits with wnich the world is flooded. The sterling worth of this plaster, is recognized, appreciated, and in use sanctioned by the highest clauses of society. One simultaneous burst of approbation arisen from the thousands who have used it, which shows, that when a remedy possesses highly intrinsic merits like this, )t does not fail of receiving the patronage of ac intelligent public.
Tbe peculiarities of this Chemical Com pound, are ow ing to its extraordinary effects, upon the animal fibror nerves, ligaments and muscles, irs virtues being carried by them to the immediate seat of the disease or of pain and weakness-
However good any internal remedy may be, this, as an external application, will prove a powerful auxiliary, in removing the disease and facilitating the cure, in cases of Local Inflammation, Scrofulous affections, King's Evil, Gout, Inflammatory and Chronic Rheumatism. ami in all cases where seated pain at weakness exists.

BE ON YOUR GU ARD.
The extensive sale, the unprecedented popularity, and constantly increasing great demand for that most beneficial and ttnivrrsnlly approved medicine, known as DR. HRANDHETH'S VECIKTADMS UMVKRSAI. PILLS, has induced many individuals, who aro entirely destitute of common honesty, to COUNTERFEIT THEM.
The very circumstance ol persons .facing constantly engaged in counterfeiting them, (the ^ls,) "is confirmation strong as proof of Ho'y Wit," of their extraordinary beneficial effects.
As you value your health, BEWARE WHRRF. YOU PURCHASE. Furthermore, when you wnn-t to obtain Brandreth's PilIs in their original purity, be sure to KEEP CLEAR OF THE DRUG STORES, for if you purchase pills of them for Brand ret h's. you are as certain as denth to get an injurious article, nomntterbow much the proprietors of drug stores and pedlars affirm that they have the genuine pills.
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, for they arc not, nor never have been, allowed to sell the genuine and always remember that aJJ authorised agents have cpgra ved CERTIFICATES OF AOEMCTY, which is signed by B. BRANDRETH, M. D. Ask to see this certificate, and if it cannot be shown, do not purchase.
