In addition to' tbe more common diseases of otw country, kia attention bas been particularly directCMl to chronic difficulties and complaints, generally supposed to be incurable, and from bis experience, believes there are but few diseases which do 5ot admit of core, or at least of being so greatly mitigated that tbe patient may enjoy a comfortable degree of health, instead of laboring under disease and pain. Being aware also that thousands neglecl medical aid from an idea that tbeir cascsare remediless, or from repeated trials with oo better effect than an increase of disease, & an extravagant bill—He therefore mentions a few of the diseases which he* proposes to remedy or make no charges for his attention and services, viz: jtsthma or phthisic, dropsies, general and local, nervous or peiiodiCal headache, consumption in its insipient stages, acute and chronic rheumatism, salt rheum, goitre or swelled neck, pancreatic and other tumours, dyspepsia, varicose v^ins, ordiseascdaction of the veins of the lower extremities, accompanied with pain and swelling of tbe limb, indurations.of tbe spleen or ague cakes, indolent ulcers,&c. A
AND AGRICULTURAL REGISTER.
WORK devoted exclusively to the great object of promoting the cause of VVcslern Agriculture, t.-iking a general view of the present condition and future prospects of the farminginterest, is at this time and in this country, a mutter of much importance. Indiana, from her local situation, from the fertility of ber soil, must look to agriculture as the great source of her wealth. Indeed, in almost any country, it is the farming interest which sustains and upholds commerce, gives employment to the irntehrinic, and adds to the wealth aud prosperity of the merchant. It is a science which cannot be too well undcrstoodjor too much investigated. The improvement -of the stock, and general cultivation ef the land, is a matter of much more importance to the practicable former than the establishment of National or State banks. The soil of Indiana, under the direction of tbe enterpri*. ing farmer, affords a bank where bills will never be protested, and whose vaults will be constantly replenished.
The Furmer shall be what its title indicates, paper devoted entirely to agriculture. It will keep aloof from tbe politic* of the day and will contain agricultural intelligence, prices current, aud general review of the markets, with a list of soltent banks in the Union.
The paper will be printed by Davis aod Wallace, at tbe office of tbe Herald, Rushville, Indiana.
A ay person obtaining »ii subscribers, shall receive tbe seventh number gratis.
