THE qualified voters'of Switzerland County, State of Indiana, are hereby notified, that' there wilt be an election held in the several Townships of said County; at the usual , places of holding elections in said Townships, on the first .Monday in November-next, being the see* und day of November. 1S40, for chbosing by ballot nine Electors for President and Vice President of the United States—which election will commence and close at the ‘same hours, and be conducted in the manner prescribed by law for electing members'of the General Assembly of this State. HENRY McMAKIN, Sheriffs. C. Sheriff’s Office, Vevay, Oct; 6. 1840.
Judging from the general character of the Writer of the above equib at one of our most worthy citizens, we should infer that he never had a "mother” to call him in,—otherwise he does but little credit to her system of moral cal* lure.— Slaletman,
And judging from the political tenets of the apottale editor of the Statesman, we should Infer that he never had a father, let alone a "moth* or,” to train him up in the way he'should go,— otherwise his “character," not only for "moral" but political honesty, would have been somewhat reputable.
