5. There is one oilier great difficulty in the wey of Mr. Miller's scheme. The years of Daniel are Jewish years of 3'30 days, not .'k"5. The period already mentioned of 4S3 years before the death of
Chris:, and the period of 190 by Mr. & Miller, are both year? of 3d0 days each.
This i a part of tin? "tlO(i vpars of Ilatiipl I S3
which ; re all alike. Hut the other part siiice ill e death of Christ, namely: 1810 years down to 1813, is reckoned by Mr. Miller as common years of 3d. days, as in our chronological tables. Thus the years are too long by 5 days each, making ." years too many in 1S10 year?. We must then, deducting 25 from Air. Miller's year 1 S 13, which gives us the year 1818,
when the U':0i) years of Daniel ended,
and the world should have been burnt up according to Mr. Miller's scheme. Or
deducting V!5 from lv50, the 2300 years ended in 1S25. However, the world stands, and proves there is some mistake
in the theory of this modern expounder of
the prophecies. Lither the 11300 evenings and mornings do not mean years
or, if they do mean Daniel's years of
300 days, they ended 18 or 'do years ago, or there is a blunder about the bcginnin: of them at the same time with seventy week?. Hair, p. Gaz.
