As his story was translated.to ua by the interpreter, it seems nothing but simple curiosity brought him to the place. fie meant no olience. he said, but felt extreme ly hungry, and if any gentleman would favor him with a leg or an arm h would esteem it as a personal obligation. lie was neutral in politics, and intended to take no part in the coming contest. Though, he said, he had a proposition to offer our government, whereby he and his people wished to be employed against the Florida Indians. The Academy is provided with ample accommodations for at least twenty boarders and sixty day sholars. The Catholic Faith is professed by the conductors, without any encroachments on, or interference w ith the principles of pupils of other denominations. Nevertheless uniformity and good order, so necessary in establishments of this kind, re quire an attendance at the public exercises of divine worship. No uniform is picscribed, but it is expected that each boarder will be provided with about six thanges of clothes; dark dresses are preferable. The system of education embraces the English and French languages Authography, Reading, Writing, Grammar, Practical and National Arithmetick, Geography and Delineation of Maps, Ancient and Modern History, Rhetoric and Belles Letter?, Natural Philosophy and Chemistry, .Music on Piano, Yocal Music, Drawing and Painting in water colors, plain Sewing, Tapestry, Embroidery, Bead and Lace work, in shortall the branches usually taught in Female Academies. TERMS.
