msnts in education.' The results of our processes in education arc no more s?aisfactory than thi ne of t!io old kerd boat, horse mill, pack saddle and blazed tree road system. Why should we suppose lh"3 management of schools is susceptible cf no change for the better? But it is affirmed that important improvements have been made tliat experience has approved them as really bsueti-' cial changes, though there are, and will be many useless and even hurtful innovations. Teachers, books and housns, are the trirea chief things in furnishing suitable institutions for our children to attend in tha acquisition of knowledge. Mutual aid among ourselves and correspondence abroad will do much to render thetn such as they ought u be. A secretary for correspondence to receive, obtain and coratnunieate information, facts or specimens oa these points will save ranch labor in tha work of improvement, and do much that is of great iraporiance which would itot otherwise bo done.
