The Congress of the Republic of Texas was in session at the latest dates from the seat of Government. It is supposed that the Land Bill will certainly pass both houses by large majorities, ard become a law. This bill provides for the opening of land offices the first of next February and allow to emigrants land: 640 acres

for a man with a family, and 320 acres for

a single man. The country never was in

a more prosperous condition. Every road

leading to the Republic is crowded with

emigrants, many of them wealthy and intel-

ligenit. The most astonishing speculation have recently been made in real estate.
