About 10 o'clock, John Ewing, Esq. delivered an appropriate address in the Court House. He adverted to the history of N. Western Territory, the Indian policy of the governinent, the service of Gen. Harrison, the battle of Tippecanoe, and the brave men (Owen, Daviess, White. Clark, Wilson, and hundreds of others) who signalized themselves upon that occasion. Mr. E. particularly dwelt upon the consequenees to the west of the victory achieved, and demonstrated that patriotism and gratittide should now disregard all adherence to the faction in office that Van Buren could not righteously be urged in competition with the hero Harrison - that a defence of freedom, right and state interests as connected with the constitution and laws of the Union, required us in d 'liatiee of all partv fe ha to snst e.i II our friend wliose whole life I.e.: i. en V Ot' to the pu' er lee, an d win a.ume.ant eai'actts" and active virtues, tit led !:;m for the exalted station.
