BABIES SUSTAIN POPULATION During the past twenty-five years the population of States that have suffered droughts, dust storms and grasshoppers scourages have gained. But the Agricultural Department takes pains to explain its opinion that the increases in farm populations have been due to high birth rates and low death rates. In other words the constant arrival of babies has maintained the population,, except in Texas and New Mexico, where more people move in, than move out. This seems to back up the old claim that “God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform.”
