PUTT-PUTT pm by ■ Bruce Wilcox, pro. South Shore Golf Club Arthur Merrill's Annual One Club Tournament was played Thursday at the South Shore Golf Club. There were a number of contestants, and first place was won by James Waltz and Jacob Rohrer, both of Goshen. Their score was 86. Mr. Waltz used a No. 1 Iron and Mr. Rohrer a No. 2 Iron. The prize list was long, so there were very few players who didn't take something home with them to show for their efforts. Joe Kirkwood's exhibition and lecture proved to be eve.ry bit as interesting and entertaining as it wa% expected to be. There was a good crowd that followed the match and watched the exhibition. In the match "Pug" Allen and “Johnny” Watson defeated Joe Kirkwood and myself. The scores were Allen 70; Watson, 68; and Kirkwood and myself, 73*1. The South Shore Golfers played the Maxwelton Golfers on Maxwelton's course, Sunday. The results were highly unfavorable. We are going ‘ to practice another year, and do, better. Mrs. Freese looks like a coming champion. She had a low gross of 96 beating Mrs. Thornburg’s 98 by two strokes. The low net pi izcs were won by Mrs. Cox and Mary Bresell with 87’s. Monday, August 24th the ProAmateur Tourney will be held at the South Shore Golf Club. It will be well worth your while to be on hand Monday afternoon. All of the good golfers of Northern Indiana will be here. There is no charge for watching and it will prove interesting to anyone who cares for golf. . The South Shore Lady Golfers have invited all of the ladies from the various Clubs in this district to their Tourney, Tuesday morning. If any lady golfer from anywhere reads this we hope you will find it possible j to attend this Tourney, Tuesday morning at 9:00 (CST). You will be more than welcome. SHE LOST 20 POUHDSOFFAT Feel full of pep and possess the slender form you crave—you can’t if you listen to gossipers. To take'off excess fat go light on fatty meats, butter, cream and sugary sweets — eat more fruit and vegetables and take a half teaspoonful of Kruschen Salts in a glass of hot water every morning to eUmlnate excess waste. T> Mrs. Elma Verille of Havre de Grace, Md., writes: “I took off 30 lbs.—my clothes fit me fine now." No drastic cathartics—no constipation—but blissful daily bowel action when you take your little dally dose of Kruschen.
