The former record was I held by Reed Newcomer, last years champion, and won with a pair of 73s for 146. Karl Freese Jr., was second with a 147. Third place was taken by Eisworth Rood. The Business Mens’ Tourney was won by Mr. C. H. Robinson of In--1 dianapolis and plays a real game of golf. Second place was won by Paul Jackson Third place was won by Wm. Inks and fourth by Art Merrill of Goshen. The Ladies’ Day tournament at the South Shore Golf Club was won by Mrs. Ralph Thornburg with a gross score of 101. The net prises were won by Mrs. Carey first and Mrs.. Adrion second. The ladies’ are planning their Northern Indiana Invitational for Aug. 25. They are expecting a large turn out. Last year they entertained over a hundred women from Northern Indiana. August 13th Art Merrill, the Goshen Dry Cleaner, will have his fourth annual One Club Tournament. There will be plenty of prizes and each year those attending have a fine time. The tournament starts at one o’clock and carries on. Karl Freese Jr., tied his record of 69 this week. He Was out in 33 and slipped to 36 coming back. Don’t forget August 15th Joseph Kirkwood will be at the South Shore Golf Club to give his super-golf exhibition. jpERSONALs! Edward Jarboe, is visiting here this week, with his parents and his wife's family, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sprague. Mrs. Irene Strieby of Indanapolis is visiting Mrs. George Xanders. Ernest Bucholtz and a party of friends from Garrett. Ind., left Wednesday morning on a fishing trip in northern Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Fenten are vacationing in Ohio.
