PERSONALS Mrs. Frederick Brian, Blooming* ton, Illinois, visited in the home of Charles C. Bachman, last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brand, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Miller, North Manchester, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Miller, Sunday. Mrs. H- A. Bowser, Chicago, visited Mrs. J. H. Bowser, this week. George and Henry Miles of Dayton Ohio, attended the Commencement exercises, Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Laughlin visited Mrs. Ida Bowersox. Mrs. L. Wise, and son Claude, and Mrs. Hanora Miles, all of Chicago, were in Syracuse to attend the Commencement. George Bill Smith left Tuesday to join his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Smith, in Quayaguil, Ecuador, South America. George Bill will return in the fall to attend Purdue University. Mrs. Maude Williams, Chicago, visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Darr, last week-end. Rev. and Mrs. John Pettit and son of Lawrenceburg, were in Syracuse to nttend the Commencement exercises, Monday. Charles Brian returned from Florida, Sunday. This summer he will spent his 58th consecutive season on Lake Wawasee. Mr! and Mrs. Earl Barrett have moved from the J. W. Rothenberger property on Main street to the former Samuel Smith property on Lake street. Mrs. Mamie 3 Pettie, who lived with her sister, Mrs. Fannie Hoy this winter, left Sunday for her home In Peru. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Larson, and son, of South Bend, visited relatives in Syracuse, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hoopingarner, Chicago, were in Syracuse last week-end. SOCIAL Miss Erma Smith Wed To Albert Mathews Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Smith, of near Salem, are announcing the marriage of their daughter Erma, to Albert Mathews, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Mathews, of near Leesburg, Sunday, April 26th at 7:30 a. m. Rev. Howard. Kreider officiated at the single ring ceremony.. The wedding march was played by Miss Joy Biller. The bride was attired in Aqua blue crepe, and her corsage was of sweet peas. The couple were attended by Leliah Smith, and L. Z. Lambert. Immeditely following the ceremony, breakfast was served to the guests. Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. David Mathews, daughter Dorothy, and son James; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Smith, daughter Betty Marie; Mr. and Mrs. David Smith, Robert Rumfelt, Mrs. Howard Kreider, and Mrs. Roscoe Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Mathews will reside on a farm north and east of Milford. Marquart attended the Syracuse High school, taking a post-graduate course, at the time she was employed by Mr. end Mrs. Noble Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Marquart will reside in Fort Wayne, where he is employed by the Bowser Manufacturing Company. Wed at Albion Evelyn Marr of Albion, Indiana, and John Gershey of Detroit, were married last Saturday at the home of Dr. J. W. Marr, Albion. The couple were attended by Miss Velma Mason, Lake Wawasee, and James W. Marr. The ring-bearer was Lois Jean Tipton of Fort Wayne. Following the ceremony the couple left for a tour in Northern Michigan. Dinner was served to 25 persons including the wedding party, members of the immediate family and guests. Guests of Rev. and Mrs. J. Edwin Jarboe, during the past week from out of town include: Mr. and Mrs. ; Daniel Abshire and son, Three Rivers, Michigan; Galen and Helen Barnhart, New Carlisle, Ohio; Leland Emrick, Eldorado, Ohio; Margaret Spindler, Woodland, Michigan Corinne Livengood, Milledeville, Illinois; Walter Sloflfer, Huntertown, Indiana! The Wednesday Afternoon Club met yesterday at the Grade school building. The lesson was an exhibition of fiUhs on South America, conducted by Mrs. Lucy Miles.
